I had never been on a wakeboard before summer 2012, yet my first time out to Trophy Lakes the guys were patient with inability to stand up all the way through my falling every 2 seconds and my fear of everything in the water. Lol. Seriously though, by the end of the summer I was riding smoothly and bringing other beginners around who were treated with the same kindness and helpful attitude. The entire crew is like a big family and they let you feel a part of it. There are times out there where other riders are doing these insane tricks and all you can do is stand in awe, but no one ever makes you feel like a kook, everyone is really supportive and if you tell them what you want to accomplish everyone will give you tips and pointers, try to help you out. They want you to be successful so you too can move on to bigger things. And when you're worn out from a day of riding, you can just hang out and watch, sit at one of the picnic tables or play with one of the resident pups. My 3rd time there I was hooked and they definitely cut me a deal on a brand new board and bindings. They will do all they can to help you in any way possible. And it's just a fun place to be!
I had family come in town, and brought my 2 little cousins, aged 10 and 16, who had never waked before out there. Michael joked with them to put them at ease, especially poor little Rayna (the 10 year old) who was petrified. Daniel was standing by the end of his hour, Rayna never did fully catch on but when she took a hard fall and just kind of popped up and lay motionless in the water Michael had dove in and gotten to her before we even realized what had happened. He pulled her board off and swam her and her board back to the dock. I just love this place. And everytime I go there's someone I know who's...
Read moreBeen coming here for nearly ten years, as well as bringing friends and family from out of state. Most recently (July 2020) the price to use the wake cable has gone from $36 for two hours to $36 for 15 minutes... An 8x increase in price!
When I called to ask they claimed the price has always been that. When I pressed them on it saying I'm a long time customer the answer was "new management".
In the event the cable park wasn't profitable it might make sense to raise the price, sure, say at the pace of inflation. But raising it 800% is unfair and unfortunately will lose my business. Lastly, renting 15 min slots makes little sense as I can't imagine learning to ride, or getting more that one cable pull in that short of time.
I'm sad to say, as I've really enjoyed this spot as well as their staff, they've lost my...
Read moreLOVE THIS PLACE!!! The best atmosphere I've experienced anywhere. Everyone is happy and helpful. Such a positive vibe around this place. A vacation from the real world for anyone and everyone. Families, friends, young and old, Trophy Lakes has something for everyone. The disc golf course is one of the nicest on the east coast. The waterski lake is known world-wide in the watersports community for their numerous world records and the wakeboard lake has a beginner, intermediate and advanced cable run. They also host kids camps during the summer and it seems like there's always a family renting the boat lake almost everyday. This is truly paradise for anyone who enjoys being outside.
