Really nice farmers market.
Easy entrance (close to 77)
Plentiful parking.
There is an atm and plenty of restrooms at the entrance (first building). This is a larger outdoor market with lots of vendors in stalls within open air buildings. Crowded but not bad. Almost all of the stalls have cashier's at the back of the stall. Causes weird lines, but don't really see a better idea.
The first building and third building from the right seem to be local farmers with local produce. The second and fourth buildings seemed to have more professional farmers with larger stall areas better selection and more varied selections. Overall very impressed.
There is an area with food trucks. Think county fairgrounds styles... snow cones, fried dough, popcorn and donuts. Lines were very short.
Also there is an additional barn style building separate from the rest. Mostly flowers and plants. Herbs, decorative succulents and one very nice (but extremely hard to understand gentleman) with HUGE amazing specimen plants. Nothing was marked in his stall with prices or names. Sooo we passed.
Overall this was worth the 20 minute drive.
One amazing stall had cutting boards made from olive wood. Really pretty and pricey. I thought they were...
Read moreGreat famers market! This place is located on a large lot with ample parking with good weekday and weekend hours. The vendors were very friendly and helpful and the grounds were well maintained and cleaned regularly. I was pleased with the variety of offerings (produce, breads, quiches, vegan to-go food, fresh seafood, honey, wines, healthy alternatives, plants/flowers), prices and quality. Generally, I don't like shopping but I opted to grocery shop here first versus the main chains for my short stay in Charlotte and felt like a kid in a candy store. Being at this local market brought back such fond memories growing up where I would spend time in my backyard garden or at my local "pick your own" farms like Millers Farm and Parkers Farm with my mother and grandmother. It also fed the nature lover and medicine woman sides of me. I truly felt my grandmothers spirits with me as I hand picked greens, string beans, root vegetables and bags of oyster and shiitake mushroons, fresh rosemary, Thai basil and chilis, bay leaves, bean sprouts, and plantains....
Read moreI love this place. I can't even properly express how much I love it. There's nothing like fresh veggies and fruit and bread and honey, etc. I don't buy the meat or seafood because it's too pricey for the size of my family but if I had more $$, I'd def do it. I do get all my veggies and other things here and I love the flexibility where most take cards, cash, or even cashapp. The greenery shed has some of the prettiest flowers, pumpkins, plants, etc. It's a fabulous way to start your day. Be sure to look around first before buying because there are price differences. Also note that some folks are selling from their farms but some are actually selling from a market or something. You can tell they didn't farm the products. Buuuuuut sometimes that means their prices are better. You just have to check quality. And before you leave, check out the concession stands in the parking lot. I love the mini donuts and the Bratwurst guy (sells hot dogs and polish sausages too). I go with the sausage or Brat when I go but other folks love the...
