An absolutely horrible experience. I hope this review deters anyone from going here.
My wife and I had possibly the WORST experience ever with anyone in the hospitality industry. The bartender on April 12, 2024 was rude, vulgar, insulting and absolutely REFUSED to provide an itemized receipt upon request. She verbally insulted me, my wife, and quickly spewed insults regarding my, and my wife’s, character in front of other guests without hesitation. Her actions, and hostile indifference, were appalling.
She insisted that we would not be able to see what we had ordered (to pay for) until after we paid, and tipped, in full. A common scam that, as an ex-Police Officer, I’m all too familiar with.
She loudly stated in front of guests that I needed to “check myself” because I requested an itemized receipt and that there was “no restaurant or bar in the world that would provide a receipt showing detailed itemizations of what you were paying for”. She was quite diaphanous with obvious criminal intent. Unfortunately, her loud, over the top, and phony “enragement” took precedent over treating valued customers, and companies, well.
Aloft - I implore you to check camera footage and offer some sort of apology. We did not check in, I will not send the people from my company here any longer, and ask that you “vet” your people a bit more wisely. This woman was unprofessional, rude, and incorrigible.
We left embarrassed, harassed, and will dispute any/all charges on our card until we get an itemized receipt; something which is expected, and commonplace, in the restaurant, hotel, and hospitality industry.
This woman’s behavior was intolerable. Please advise if Aloft has a policy to NOT provide itemized receipts to guests. I do not think that was an unfair request.
Also, please advise if Aloft employees are allowed to berate, humiliate, and embarrass guests. We were sickened by her abusive behavior.
Again, please review any/all camera footage and kindly explain how this rude and insolent woman is able to continue being an ALOFT employee.
Please contact me to discuss further. My wife is now crying because of Aloft and their rude and unprofessional bartender. *
If this is an example of what this hotel embodies then my review will read “An absolute horrible experience that I hope deters anyone from going here”.
We immediately called afterwards to express our concerns and were instructed to call Allison in the morning. Hopefully Allison, or a Marriott representative, can provide an explanation.
*Follow up review: There was no follow up provided by the hotel as promised. After several attempts, the Assistant GM emailed me an itemized receipt with no explanation. Our company has since pulled this hotel as an option for...
Read moreI arrived friday afternoon from out of town on March 13, for an emergency getaway because I suffer from anxiety and depression and some family emergency medical issues had caused a very overwhelming and stressful week so my friend thought it would be a good idea to have a short getaway...I literally went straight from the Charlotte airport to the Salt pad spa because of my rough time ... afterwards we went to check in at he hotel. On 1st impression the hotel is very beautiful.. very modern with an urban twist style ...the front desk was very friendly but when I offered my registration information the front desk declined stated they had everything they needed to check us in..cool... we were then given our key and went to our room ..and it was the Wrong room! It was a room with 2 doubles/queen beds instead of the king we had requested through our reservation..so the last hour I spent decompressing my stress and anxiety was thrown in the trash because of this error...to add to my increasing rise of my anxiety level when I called the front desk although she was very polite... instead of just immediately rectifying it she questioned me a little more than I felt appropriate considering it was their screw up.. so we go all the way back downstairs to get our key ... and then she questioned us again..."did you touch anything....did you use the bathroom...did you sit on the bed" like it was very frustrating and an unneccessary inconvenience since we literally didn't even put our bags down because it was the WRONG room and she was the person that checked us in.. like really who could do anything in the 5 minutes from us getting off the elevator.. going into the room and calling the front desk🤦🏿♀️...lol we weren't even offered a complimentary soda or anything 🤷🏿♀️. .then later that evening when we returned from dinner I requested additional towels... I'm back in Florida now and still waiting on those towels... the hotel's physical appearance is lovely ..very quiet and up to date..but it left an unpleasant taste in my mouth compared to the others of the Aloft name I...
Read moreOk so let me say that the front desk person i interacted with was great when I arrived. When I checked in I was assigned room 516. I settled in but I noticed when I was walking on the floor closest to the bed, it was vibrating. Honestly, I'm like I must be imagining things and brushed it off. However, it did not go away. When I got into the bed it was also back or rattling... including whatever back of the bed was. Because I know buildings I'm figuring I must be by the elevator room or mechanic room. For some reason I thought it would stop but it did not!! And my mind and body could not settle and rest. I called the front desk to get my room changed. I was originally told I had to wait until the morning. The feeling of the bed and noise were so disturbing that I had to go downstairs. When I walked out of my room, what did I notice??? That i was right across the mechanical room and then there was the elevator as well. So I was right. I ended up getting a room on another floor that was perfect!! Oh but the door lock didnt work. I reported this and it was not fixed. I was there gor 4 days. That room... 516 should be taken offline seriously. You cannot rest there. The rooms are nicely designed. Simple. A seating area. Comfortable bed (with the exception of 516). The food accommodations minimal... no complimentary coffee or tea. There is a pool. You can go downstairs to work. Very close to the airport and they have a free shuttle. If you are looking to do things and be close to action, you'd want to be at another location. For me I was visiting friends so this was ok. Would I stay here again, yes. I would try their other locations but I heard their customer service at this Charlotte location is better than the other 2 locations...
