Spivak Jewelers and Engagement Rings — Attraction in Cherry Hill Township

I came here specifically because of the reviews and traveled about an hour and a half to shop for an engagement ring. Initially, I knew what I wanted but was steered in other directions. I didn’t like anything they showed me so I thought I wouldn’t have found anything here. Another jeweler came over to help and ended up showing me one I really did like and that was my style. So I did tell them I didn’t want anything bulky or too high and they assured me it would be as I wanted it. We ultimately purchased the ring and it came in when they said it would. We traveled another hour and a half to go pick it up and it looked beautiful but I was still concerned about the height. Either way, I decided to take it. Fast forward a couple months after wearing it, the height was unpleasant and the stone became loose. My fiancé and I decided to travel again to go here in order to get the loose stone addressed and address the height of the ring. We waited a while as they were understandably busy on a Saturday. When we were seen, they cleaned the ring (which I appreciated) but said they were too busy to address the loose stone. They urged us to make an appointment and come back again even though I stressed that we are not close whatsoever. They did offer to keep it there and mail it back to me but I felt extremely uncomfortable with that since things often get lost in the mail. So I left with still a loose stone and no resolution to the height (they said there was nothing they could do).

Well I ended up going to another jeweler to look at wedding bands because I was unhappy with the service I received at spivak. This jeweler took no money from me, offered to tighten the prongs on the ring (took him 2 minutes) and even gave me a jewelry cleaning kit that spivak said they’d give me but never did. They did all this for me for free. The customer service at the other jeweler was astounding and yet the jeweler at spivak couldn’t be bothered to spend two minutes to tighten prongs on a ring they sold me. Overall, I regret buying the ring from here and wish I had shopped around some more. I’m honestly not happy with my purchase and not happy with the change in customer service from when I was shopping to after I purchased. I will not go back and will not recommend them. I will instead spend my money on a new ring or adjusting the height of my current one at the other jeweler...

I am not much for writing Reviews, but this one I write with pleasure. I left the shop an hour ago after picking up a repair order. I have known the Spivak Jewelers and have engaged in business with them for about 6 years. This has included the purchase of at least one watch, a few pieces of jewelry, and a few more repairs, and even a few consultations. In my opinion, there are 3 reasons to do (or not to do) business with someone. One is Competency. Given the family members longevity in the business, which is decades for the patriarch, Gary Spivak, nobody can call into question their competence. Besides being a jeweler, I consider Gary a legitimate Artist. Another reason is Cost. On more than one occasion, I have left their store feeling quasi-embarrassed over the nominal fee that they charged me to make repairs. I would have legitimately paid more going to a kiosk in a mall. And yet another reason is because you like someone and/or simply enjoy doing business with them, and I absolutely enjoy doing business with Gary, his son Josh, and Josh's wife, Chelsea. I probably go into the store about 5 times a year, and they always greet me by my name, and honestly care how I am doing, despite the fact that I am by no means a big time spender there. I remember about a year ago I was consulting with Josh about whether I should consider buying a certain product. Rather than simply say 'Yes', he actually asked me what the intent of the possible purchase was for. When I responded "...as an investment", he came back and told me that he would not consider it a wise investment for me given my economies of scale for the purchase in mind. Had he said Yes, I would have looked further into the situation, and ultimately made my purchase from Spivak. This was not surprising to me, given my previous business experience with the family. My wife and I had an incredible experience at Spivak Jewelers! We were in the market to upgrade my wife's wedding ring so we decided to try a family-owned jeweler after a national retailer left a sour taste in our mouth. We came across Spivak Jewelers on the internet. The reviews were stellar so we decided to pay them a visit. When we arrived, we were impressed with the beautiful show room and relaxing atmosphere. We were immediately greeted by Josh, who treated us like family. He took the time to listen to my wife's needs regarding a new diamond ring. We were not, as many are, well versed in the diamond selection and grading process. Josh had taken his time to thoroughly explain how diamonds are graded and actually showed us examples so we could make an informed decision. We were both impressed and grateful for his expertise. My wife browsed the vast selection of beautifully crafted rings but could not find the exact design she had in mind. Since we were upgrading her ring, we wanted to make sure it was absolutely perfect. That is when Josh introduced us to Gary! Gary sat down with my wife and went through a plethora of rings and designs until he had a general idea of what my wife was looking for. Gary then custom built her dream ring from scratch! The ring was absolutely stunning! So much so, that after I picked it up, I could not wait for Christmas to give it to her! It was exactly what she had wanted in every aspect! She absolutely loves the ring! The quality of craftsmanship is like nothing we have seen before in a piece! I want to thank the entire staff for making my wife happy and treating us like we were part of the family! I will be returning in the future, that is for sure!
