We walked through Millennium Park – the one with the famous “Bean” – and came across the BP Pedestrian Bridge with its unique curvey design. why the name - Named for energy firm BP, which donated $5 million toward its construction. This 925-foot stainless steel "pedestrian" bridge is located at the far east section of Millennium Park connecting Millennium Park to Maggie Daley Park. The bridge complements the Pritzker Pavilion in "design" as well as "function" by creating an acoustic barrier from the traffic noise below. The Bridge creates accessibility for people with disabilities, linking the eastern and western areas of Grant Park

It's worth going a bit out of your way to try out this winding, futuristic footbridge. The bridge itself is aesthetically stunning and it opens on captivating views of the downtown skyline and the lakeshore area. For a central city location, the feeling is almost rural. Am It connects the lakeshore walkway region to the giant art structures of Millennium Park so you won't be going too far out of your way to use this bridge, anyway.

The staff was extremely rude was searched upon entering, and definitely not done correctly, several people was not required to open their bags, and most was not even waved with the wand, they had more interest in making everyone hurry so they could continue their own get together. Most attendants were asleep, or on their phone. I am disabled currently, walked into entrance of the Pedestrian Bridge, never given instruction that you had to walk the entire bridge. The attendant was on her phone, never acknowledged anyone going onto the bridge, but was ready to go when myself, and three others took pictures a few feet onto bridge to tell us we had to walk the entire bridge. No signs was posted making those who are disabled aware that you cannot walk 20 feet to take a photo that if you enter you are forced to walk the entire bridge. I feel there needs to be a sign posted letting those who are disabled aware of their policy, and also train every attendant that works on a post to be more present in their jobs, including the security who clearly was not doing their job as well. Absolutely horrible...

Whenever we come to Chicago we visit Cloud Gate, I particularly enjoy parking on or near Randolph Street and entering near the Maggie Daley Rock Climbing Park because then we always cross this bridge. You get to walk through neat areas of the park and while on the bridge you go over Columbus Drive. The bridge isn't straight and has a nice curve to it with what looks like just a wooden floor. It's wide and stable and when you hit the other end you have a great view of the theater...
