📍Hampton Inn Chicago Downtown/N Loop/Michigan Ave : 68 E. Wacker Place, Chicago, IL 60601
📍This hotel is right in the middle of Chicago! We stayed in the 1 King Bed Room, which had a mini fridge, a TV, and free breakfast!

📍5/10 - This hotel looked fancy when we first arrived, but there were so many things that went wrong. First, we didn’t have AC so they had to bring us a fan which was very much appreciated. Also, there is NO parking so we chose to do valet parking for roughly $69. Next, at a certain time at night they lock the doors and you can only enter once the security guard lets you in. They say this is because the area is not that safe, so this method prevents strangers from breaking in. What I enjoy is that this hotel is walking distance from a lot of Chicago’s tourist places like the Chicago bean! #hotel #hotelstay #chicago #millenniumpark #hamptoninn

Hampton Inn Chicago Downtown/N Loop/Michigan Ave: Location, Location, Location! My recent stay at the Hampton Inn Chicago Downtown/N Loop/Michigan Ave was a pleasant one, largely thanks to its unbeatable location. While the rooms were a bit on the small side, the prime spot in the heart of downtown Chicago more than made up for it. Location: The hotel's location is its crown jewel. You're just steps away from iconic landmarks like Millennium Park and the Magnificent Mile, and a short stroll from the vibrant theater district and countless dining options. For those on a business trip or wanting to explore the city's attractions, it's hard to imagine a more convenient base. Rooms: While the rooms are compact, they're clean, modern, and efficiently designed. The bed was comfortable, and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. If you're planning on spending a lot of time in your room, the size might be a slight drawback, but for those who are out and about exploring the city, it's perfectly adequate. Service: The staff at the Hampton Inn were consistently friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the breakfast attendants. They were always ready with a smile and eager to assist with any requests. Breakfast: The complimentary breakfast was a definite highlight, with a large spread of hot and cold options to satisfy every taste. From eggs and bacon to fresh fruit and pastries, there was something for everyone. The breakfast area was clean and well-maintained, and the staff did a good job of keeping everything stocked. Maintenance: While the hotel isn't brand new, it's well-maintained and in good condition. The common areas were clean and inviting, and the rooms showed no signs of wear and tear. Overall: If you're looking for a centrally located hotel in Chicago that offers great value and easy access to all the city has to offer, the Hampton Inn Downtown/N Loop/Michigan Ave is an excellent choice. The rooms may be small, but the location, service, and breakfast are all top-notch. Plus, the walkability factor is unbeatable – you can leave your car in the valet and explore the city on foot. Pros: * Unbeatable location in the heart of downtown Chicago * Walkable distance to major attractions and businesses * Friendly and helpful staff * Large and varied breakfast spread * Good value for the price Cons: * Rooms are a bit small * Valet parking is the only option, and can be expensive Bottom Line: For its prime location and excellent value, the Hampton Inn Chicago Downtown/N Loop/Michigan Ave is a solid choice for both business and leisure travelers. Just don't expect a spacious room!

I am booked for 3 nights. Horrible experience. Got to the hotel about 1:30 am they gave me my room key but it wouldn't work so they had security escort me up to assist come to find out there was already some one in my room a man--anything could have happened trying to get into an occupied room in the middle of the night--they were fully booked she had to call around to 10 hotels to find me a room for the night I got to my new hotel at 3am--I'm tired!!! I was told to return the following night to finish my stay. I then returned next evening at about 7pm. Was given my room key. Went to my room, the room had not been serviced/cleaned. Bed was unmade, towels on floor, it felt like someone had just left. Asked to be moved to a sister hotel, but no availability. Was then moved to a new room. I'm terrified that they will "accidentally" reissue my key to someone else and they will try to enter my room in the middle of the night. Update August 15th. I was told by management at the property that they would comp me two nights of my stay as demonstrated by the receipt upon check-out and I would receive Hilton Honors Points. As of today I have been charged for the entire wretched stay. When I contacted Hampton, they said Hilton Honors (Ophelia) would process the refund, when I contacted HH they said Hampton (Deonte) would issue the refund in the form of a check. After several hours of phone calls I was assured Deonte from Hampton would contact me. As you would expect with the atrocious quality of customer service so far, no response from Hampton about the refund. I called HH again and after 45 minute conversation (because every conversation requires me to regurgitate the issues and the experience) and they said that they were reviewing the refund for approval although my receipt clearly shows a two night credit. Additionally, I should be satisfied with the compensation already provided. There is a clear failure to recognize that the compensation I received is still not complete and was due to the hotels incompetence and that the need for me to continue to follow-up and ensure that management fulfills the refund. Also, I paid cash on July 10th, but am expected to wait 30 days or more is absurd. I just keeps getting worse @Hilton do better

BEWARE we were charged $450 for room damage we did not do!

My husband and I stayed in room 1301 for our 5 year anniversary. Overall we had an amazing experience and loved this hotel. It has a beautiful lobby and the room was the perfect view of downtown river walk and well cleaned. The breakfast was fantastic and all the staff were kind and helpful. On our way home from our trip after 1 night, we even raved about the hotel to our family and recommended it to them for their upcoming visit down the road. I would even stay there next time we come. We were overall just impressed by location, prices, breakfast quality, and helpful staff.

The part that really put me off though was the $450 charge to our card and missed call from management the next day. When I called the front desk and told them we were overcharged, my jaw literally dropped and I feel like I went into panic mode when she told me we were charged because somebody had punched a hole in the TV!?? I was so confused, we literally didn’t even touch the TV or use the TV..I didn’t even notice the TV. We barely were even in the room the entire time because we were so busy touring the city, and I mean it’s our anniversary, who’s gonna be watching tv that night lol 😉. Anyways. I called the front desk today and she said we would need to wait until Tommorow morning to talk to management about the claim they are making about us ruining the TV. Like what do I even do? Will they show me a picture? Was I supposed to inspect the room before I stayed in case the last people before us were the ones who smashed the TV, was the maid service having a bad day? Like how do you even prove it wasn’t you when you didn’t even think about looking at the TV and taking pictures to prove everything in the room was fine?

I just hope they can make everything right because I hate that feeling of being falsely accused of something I would never do, or even knew about, especially when that much money is involved…if they can make it right….I would still consider staying there again on our next visit, especially because we had a great time there, if not…bye bye anything Hilton ever again in my life…I’m literally shook and so disappointed over this whole thing. My anxiety is through the roof right now!

Update…after multiple phone calls with the manager, today, I was able to get my money refunded for the damage they claimed was done. I was not willing to wait for them to investigate previous customers who did the damage and could potentially lie about it and put the blame on us.I had no photo proof of the TV damage from them and for all I knew it could have been fraud. I have had the most stressful experience trying to figure this whole thing out, I will probably never stay there again because this whole thing just left a bad taste in my mouth which is sad because I actually had a great stay and liked the hotel. I would still recommend the hotel though in spite of everything that happened. I am so grateful the manager was able to refund us and I hope there is a better way to go about a situation like this in the future. He did end up sending us photo proof too or the tv crack, the only way we could have known it was Brocken though was if we had turned the TV on though (which we did not). What I have learned though is always take pictures of your room and test the TV before settling in to avoid charges for damage a prior visitor could...

Our party of six arrived late on a Wednesday night and the check-in was fast and uneventful. We had three separate rooms, and all were paid for with hotel points. I am not positive that the points used were comparable to this hotel, and their rooms. I feel like the points were overpaid.

This is what I observed upon getting off the elevator on the seventh floor. Carpet in hallway had not been vacuumed, especially in front of the doors to our rooms, our room had trash in front of the doorway, and it was obvious that these floors and hallways had not been vacuumed for some time.

Entered the room and found the following: one-third of a roll of toilet tissue and no extras. No soap anywhere to be found. The water ran very slowly from the sink and extremely hard to convert from hot to cold water. The faucet was placed at an offset to the left of the sink, which was very awkward.

Cooling system inside rooms were hard to regulate. If it were too cold, thermostat could not be raised pass seventy-four, nor lowered pass 72 (which we did not want). In the middle of the night, the unit would stop cooling completely.

The next morning, being sure that the hallway would be vacuumed along with the areas in front of the three doorways, as the cleaning service was on our floor and a vacuum cleaner was sitting in front of our door. When we returned in the afternoon, nope, trash was still there.

In the afternoon, upon my return. I went to the front desk and told them the situation about the soap and toilet paper and the desk clerk went and retrieved both items and gave them to me, for all six rooms. I also mentioned the trash in front of the rooms and stated that it needed to be vacuumed and he said it would be taken care of, the next morning and that did not happen. In fact, it never happened. When we checked out on Monday, the doorways were still dirty and so was the hallway.

This location is very noisy, during the night and early in the morning. It sounds like garbage trucks picking up early morning, dumping and banging receptables. Very noisy pipes from adjacent rooms, using the showers.

I also observed the cleanliness of the hotel entrance, sitting area and breakfast serving area. Floors are filthy and never mopped and polished. Entrance doors/revolving doors (glass) are filthy and never cleaned. Elevators are dirty and unkempt. I never saw anyone working behind the bar, if you wanted a drink, you could not get one.

The only positive about staying here, is that it is centrally located within walking distance to sightseeing areas.

As for the breakfast, it is simply basic food and nothing special. Most of it must be prepared by the guest.

Do not stay here, you can find a better hotel in...
