The Boardwalk section of the Chicago Riverwalk offers a serene escape amidst the city’s vibrant energy. This area provides uninterrupted views of the Chicago River, framed by the city’s iconic skyscrapers, making it a picturesque spot for both daytime and evening strolls. As you walk along The Boardwalk, you’ll find several cafés and seating areas, perfect for relaxing and watching boats glide by. The gentle sway of the floating gardens adds a touch of nature to the urban landscape, creating a harmonious blend of city and serenity. At night, The Boardwalk transforms into a tranquil haven illuminated by subtle lighting, offering a peaceful ambiance for evening walks. The reflections of city lights on the water create a mesmerizing scene, ideal for those looking to experience Chicago’s beauty after dark. Whether you’re interested in architecture, seeking a quiet place to unwind, or simply enjoying a leisurely walk, The Boardwalk on the Chicago Riverwalk provides a unique perspective of the city that’s both relaxing and visually captivating.

I love the view here. As of living in Chicago my whole life, this I have to say is one of the best parts of Chicago by far. Especially where the grass and the colorful chairs are, you can get a great view of the water, the boats, the skyscrapers. It makes a great area for view sighting, photography, drawing, and maybe a lot more things. Plus, when they do the light arts on the buildings, oh my goodness! It is a miracle to watch and look at the art on the building. It is a joy to be hwre

I'm a photographer in Chicago and love coming to this place to take photos for my clients. Sometimes it's people visiting out of town, sometimes, it's couples who just got married or engaged and sometimes it's just friends who want the chicago iconic views. The Riverwalk is well taken care of and I always feel safe walking around there with my camera gear.
