Much better than I expected. Also, make sure you make reservations in advance! They were booked up when we went, but Murphy was kind enough to squeeze us in anyway. Murphy was fantastic! So much knowledge, and personal experience growing up here and watching the renovations progress. I can't think of anywhere else that you can get that much for $6!

Bidwell Mansion State Historic Park While passing through Chico we decided to make a stop at the Bidwell State Historic Park. It was easy to find the park with plenty of parking but do to covid it was closed so we walked around the home and grounds. It’s a very pretty Victorian House and grounds.

Beautiful plantation style mansion right next to California State University Chico! Three guided tours a day, $6.00 per person! Due to a other commitment that we did not have the opportunity to visit, but hopefully there will be other opportunities to visit again!

Tour guide was great, filled with lots of knowledge. The mansion was filled with lots of history, really gave you the feel of that era. Wish though there weren't barriers and the entire house could be explored. Still a fun experience, definitely one to do again!

The guy giving us the tour of the mansion was very knowledgeable. He was patient when we wanted to stay behind a bit to take photos of certain things inside the mansion. Very interesting history behind the Bidwell mansion. I enjoyed my visit there for sure

Description
Bidwell Mansion, located at 525 Esplanade in Chico, California, was the home of General John Bidwell and Annie Bidwell from late 1868 until 1900, when Gen. Bidwell died. Annie continued to live there until her death in 1918.
