I went to Tres Hombres for the first time to celebrate my birthday a few days ago, which was enough to convince me not to go back. The food and drinks were decent, and service seemed ok. That was, however, until the bill came...or didn’t. Because it was my birthday, our server brought me a free shot, which I did not ask for, but was appreciated. Well, when the time came to get our bill, our server said, “I hope you’re not in a hurry, I have to find a manager to comp your birthday shot”...except we had tickets to see a ballet later. Even after we told the server this he still went around taking other orders and ignoring us when we asked if ours bills were ready. It took our server 25 mins and all my friends and I literally waiting at the serving station to get our bills. Added to this was the fact that we had told the server ahead of time we’d need separate bills, yet we still had to verbally tell him individually while at the serving station what each of our orders was. The manager that comped my shot didn’t even bother saying anything to us as he walked to the computer. Seriously, if you’re going to make giving a birthday shot/dessert/whatever a headache for the customer, don’t bother. I’d rather not had the shot and not missed the first 15mins of the...
Read moreThis restaurant was horrible. The food was absolutely tasteless and looked more like piled leftovers into a plate. The worst part however was the very disgusting and poor customer service. The workers were completely unhelpful unless they were serving a table of their friends. We asked for the check several times and each time our waitress said she would bring it but it took forever. We could see her walking around hanging out with various people at different tables. When we asked the hostess for help getting the check she too was rude and unhelpful. Rather than helping she shunned us and went back to her group of friends that surrounded the front counter. It felt like we were in a grade school classroom with a substitute teacher. It wasn't clear who was running the place, it felt like it was being run by a bunch of lazy students who could care less about doing their job. Seemed like they were there to hang out at a bar and socialize than serve paying customers. I will never return there. On the other hand, I suppose it is the perfect bar for locals wanting to hang out with their friends...
Read moreMediocre is the operative term for this place. Great location, very popular, however, the food isn't great, the margaritas are decent but uninspired, cleanliness is lacking and the service is adequate at best. I sat outside on the patio this visit, there were the food remains of the last guest under my table. A child must have been in the last party because there was rice and chips all over the ground like peanut shells at one of those restaurants with saw dust on the floor. It's called a broom and dust pan, use it. Furthermore, the slotted table had about a half cup of salsa in the grooves. It wasn't very busy, so we sat immediately, but it took about 10 minutes to get chips and salsa and another 8 minutes for our server to show up and ask if we wanted more than water. $78 tab after tip for two lunch entrees a carafe ("pitcher") of margaritas and appetizers, which is to be expected of a downtown "hangout" but take a tip from Crush and B st and have a little pride in your business and job; clean up and be more attentive to your guests, earn your keep. It...
