Only ONE entrance to the play area, so if someone tries to steal your kid, it'll be awful obvious which I loved! We aren't from around here and loved the cheese slide, the funky structure ideas and the huge sand pit, not to mention the way the little kid section is protruding towards the middle of the park but also close to the bathrooms so moms can be helping the littlest and the potty trainees, while also watching their older kiddos. You can see the whole park from the itty bitties area (except for inside the castle walls). It was so busy when we went, but our homeschooled kiddo blended right in and found a kind group of kids playing tag to join in with. The park has numerous old growth trees and beautiful, seemingly safe trails around the park. It is next to a very slow road with not a lot of traffic (I only say this for people who may bring "runners" or autistic kiddos that may end up finding a way to run out ahead of them. Or even just littles that don't listen well lol. This is a great park! Totally give it a try and don't forget sanitizer if you want to have fun but also avoid all the nasty going around....
Read moreGated playground with only one way in and out, perfect to keep you mind at ease in case your kid dashes out of sight for a moment.
Lots of great climbing options for those daredevils but still has easygoing play structures for small kids, too! The sand pit now has a nearby water facet for sand castle play as well as rinsing feet and hands once playtime is over--just bring your own towel 😉
This is an OLD park with newer structures, like the pirate ship. Bathrooms are also old with two stalls in the women's and one stall and a urinal for the men's. The bathrooms are sometimes in a rough state where one stall may be out of order, so if you or your little one need to use it, there might be a wait. Unfortunately, no diaper changing stations--bring a blanket for doing that in the grassy areas or back at your car if you drove.
Lots of seating areas and picnic tables for resting and eating. CARD even provides free event scheduling for their two picnic table spots, just visit their...
Read moreI used to play at Caper Acres when I was a child. Even had a birthday party there. The park had declined in later years sadly. I'd heard about new renovations and decided to take our 2 little granddaughters here yesterday. They're 3 and 5 years old. So glad we did! The park is clean, safe and has a lot of different play areas depending on age. I remember the cheese, which is still there! The Crooked House with the sliding pole is gone but more structures and slides of different sizes have replaced it. The old hill with 'underground' tunnels is gone, probably a good thing since I remember ruining a favorite pair of shorts crawling through the dirt in there. All in all we had a great day with the grandkids and a nice trip down memory lane for me. We will definitely be back weather permitting, the granddaughters said it's their new favorite park. So glad to see Caper Acres is back to being a great place for families to...
