U.S. Nails & Spa — Local services in Chico

Sorry for the long review! But i did NOT like my experience at all! I dont think they spoke much English. I said, "My mother and i have a 4pm appt." ( It was for moms bday gift.) Mom wanted a regular manicure and pedicure for $35 and i ended up getting acrylics instead. The lady didnt speak, just shook her head and points us to where we should go. My mom now felt nervous. As did i due to lack of communication. I get pointed to a different polish section than mom thats in the back. I get seated...now, this is both our 1st time going to a salon so i had already cut and filed my nails short before going..but the girl cut them again down to my quick! She then files the top of my nail and applies the fake nail. As she gets to the drimal part to sand the acrylic down and shape it out, she hits my cuticle on both my thumbs and my wedding ring finger, hurting me! When i get home, my thumb cuticles start to bleed!!! The nails made me feel uncomfortable and claustrophobic. I never knew fake nails could make me feel like this! I didnt even have them on for more than a week before I had to take them off! But i didnt want to pay them to remove the nails and again get hurt! So i soaked them in acitone for 30 minutes or more and used tweezers. I got most of the nails off, leaving bits behind on a couple nails. The whole process made me sick to my stomach. And now it has left my real nails weak and thinly brittle! I...

The actual service is great. But there were a couple of hiccups. The employee that was to do my pedicure soaked my shorts while filling the foot bath. No one asked if everything was OK, or offered me a towel even. While ordering which service I wanted - the employee was adamant about upgrading the service I wanted to upsell the next, more expensive service - which i did. Even with those two things I still recommend this business. My nails never looked better ! And the massage chairs are terrific! I elected to get the massage and soaking bath - which is only about 35$. Also, payment by card but tipping has to be cash only - so bring a few dollars for that. Otherwise, than noted - overall...

Really upset. Every single person that works here is nice except for Quang. He is the guy nail tech who is in the first seat on the left when you enter the store. I have had such amazing experiences here but that guy is always incredibly rude & will scoff at you & throw your hand around when you tell him something needs correcting with your nails. When he does my nails there is always something wrong with them & I have had to ask for someone else before. Everyone else is amazing, but that guy does horrible work & will get mad if you ask him to correct something. I’ve been getting my nails done here for over a year for reference.
