Northern Lights & Accents — Attraction in Chico

Great experience going in. The staff was knowledgeable about their products and what would be good for you. Unfortunately I cant give them 5 stars due to issues with customer service.

Their policy is that they don't call their customers to relay information. I ordered a product that was due within a week. I received no phone call the day the item was due. The next day I physically went in to check, I was told the item had been back ordered and was 3 weeks out. Why no phone call? Their response was "we have so much going on we can't call everyone".

The bottom line is a local business HAS to compete with internet businesses in this day and age. If someone can get something for a better price and faster, then your only angle is customer service. A phone call could have saved them a sale and potential future customer and recommendation. Instead you insult them by saying "thanks for keeping it local" as they walk out. No, thank you for showing how much you actually care about...

I went in to purchase two new bathroom vanity lights. I mentioned that my current lights were only a year old but they are having issues and Lowes discontinued them for this reason. The gentleman in the store stopped me from buying the new fixtures and said he may be able to fix my existing ones with some spare parts. I already had one of the fixtures down so I brought it in. Upon further inspection the fixtures were deemed not worth to fix. I was very impressed that Northern Lights wasn't just after a sale and they tried to help me with a more affordable option. If you are upgrading to LEDs, it will really help you to be an informed consumer as the LED market is changing rapidly. Read about color rendering index and TM-30 standards. For example, if you have a saturated color scheme (reds, oranges), you want high color rendering (CRI) of 90+ for lights with an R9 value 50.
