Hottinger Family Meats — Attraction in Chino

So I went again and asked for the some rib eyes with the most marbling and I swear the guy look at me like I was an alien and said i don't hear that a lot. Let me tell you, they were amazing so moral of my story is ask for exactly what you want. I cooked them in my super hot cast iron pan for 2 mins on each side and then let it rest and it is my perfect med rare. I can't get out there enough because of my hectic schedule and I don't like frozen meat but I get the hype now. The meat is really good and fresh. Will need to try more of their items but the rib eyes are worth their price. Honestly it isn't much more than the grocery store, plus the guys that work there are super nice and helpful. Not once have I gone in and not only had help but they are all really nice. First time here, I saw a recommendation from locals around me. Really nice staff and the meat is good. My only complaint/issue is that the guy who grabbed the rib eyes I selected trimmed the fat off. Sooo sad because I picked them because they had nice marbling. :( So my rib eye was good but not as good as it could be since there wasn't much fat left. I'm sure he saw I was a woman or maybe most people like it trimmed but I definitely prefer the fat. Will have to go back and get try again but tell them not to trim them down. Also the dogs love...

My partner and I are new to Chino Hills so we’re looking around for our go to spots. Let me just say my experience and expectations were very underwhelming. As we walked in the lady at the register didn’t even greet us but made eye contact. Odd.. We made our way towards the freezer section that’s connected with where they keep the fresh meat. The girl behind the glass was just staring at us as we were trying to find what we needed not once did she offer help we had to initiate it which typically I don’t mind doing, but she was already watching our every step without any customer service provided. Her demeanor was carefree. As we approached the register the lady didn’t care to ask if we found everything okay or really spoke until it was time to give us our total and while she was ringing our items up I had the feeling she was weirdly staring at me which my boyfriend also picked up on and confirmed it. It was a very odd and unprofessional experience. Definitely made us both feel unwelcome. First and last time...

Don’t listen to the 1 star reviews from snobby people with their head up their butt! This place is AMAZING! The Butchers, Workers & customer service is professional and very helpful & kind. I always come here during lunch for their well known Tri Tip Sammich 😍 it never disappoints! I’ve taken 2 of my friends to try it & my father and they all loved the Tri Tip. The Prices of their cuts are very good and affordable for the amazing quality you get! 4 fresh natural rib eye steaks for $40 and some change, you can not beat that. Once again I don’t understand these angry reviews from angry people. Take it from a local I highly recommend this Butcher Shop & it makes me never want to have any other meat shop from some average grocery store.
