Gordy's Market in downtown Chippewa Falls used to be a good place to work and shop, but it has gone to the dogs. About 6 months ago They hired two managers Ryan Darvey and Ryan Andregg who are rude to the cahiers and give the cashiers little to none thanks for employee service and do not post the schule untill many times on Thursdays. Roberta has worked at this store for 14 years while only making $9.90 per hour providing great service to the customers who often would stand in her line and wait to be waited on while other lines were open. She would often go into work if asked because they were short handed and always early to work. In the 1st week of Dec. She had 4 days off to go to Oshkosh and she was sick so she did not go and she called into work to see when she was to work on Mon. And was told they scheduled her to work on Sat. & Sunday, so she went into work sick those 2 days and if she hadnot she would of been fired. When she confronted Darvey about it he said it was a mistake, then a couple days later he asked her to come into work because they were short handed so she did. Then on Dec.20th Andregg Fired her because they had a couple of complaints in the last couple of months and cited the last day was on Fri., This was when she had a colonoscopy and when confronted about it he called the main office and conviently changed the day to Wed. 14 Years of great service with low pay and let go because these managers have only been employed about 6 months and incompetent to do their jobs. Their have been other good cashiers that have also been fired lately and I think its just to bad that Gordy's Market treats their employees like this and it leaves me wondering what Gordy's would do on good day if all the cashiers would just walk out the door. In the last 6 months or so they have gone to our family foods for a large variety of foods, and which many people don't like and I will not buy it. I now only go to Gordys for a super discount item and prefer to shop at Walmart, Woodmans, and Festival where better quality foods can be bought. I did buy 3 gallons of milk for $0.98 each in the last couple of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy 1st time there a girl at the information center was very friendly very helpful went out of her way to help me learn the computer system for the coupons. Then when I was checking out There was a problem with my credit card and the manager spent almost 20 minutes trying to help me Get it sorted out and buy as much food as I could with my credit card with the amount of money left on it. We had to have run the food through the checkout line 5 or 6 times before it finally accepted. I was absolutely embarrassed felt 4 inches tall Because there were several people behind me waiting. In the end the manager even gave me ttwo items that I didn't have the money for to be nice to me. I absolutely love the people that work there. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars Is because the food is expensive there. So I give 10 stars to the people that work there and 2 stars to the grocery store. Thank you to the people that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe location is outdated. Lighting is bad, floors are dirty, and employees will treat you as something they'd rather not deal with. They do nothing but move slow and never acknowledge your existence until you walk to the checkout and wait. Even while checking out they move slow, the first and only time they interact with you. I walked through the entire store twice, I was never acknowledged.
Prices high, like most places, but you'll save a bunch by going to Walmart or Kwik Trip. Bad customer service along with bad facilities and high prices means it's best to go elsewhere.
Overall it's a bad place to shop. Nothing worth a complaint, but probably a location that won't be in business in a couple of years for...
