Lecom is my hometown arena I have attended many hosted events throughout it's history and I would guess roughly 22 years.great downtown location, easy to get to plenty of parking around a near the venue. My Grandson and I frequent the arena during hockey season.an average of 2 x a month..it is always clean and well kept,it's not huge by any means it seats 3700 and change.general seats and upper VIP seating ,I have utilized both seating areas for various events. All seating sections provide an adequate and satisfactory view of the main event floor.easy access to the consessions and restroom area and there is also a nice libation area in VIP and a lounge on the street level.Unfortunately the hockey games do not draw the crowd I would like to see there supporting our local league,The Elmira Aviators are a brand new team in Elmira for the 24/25 season,I attended opening night and was impressed with their determination and unity they really played strong and hard and even though they were down 2 goals they gave it 100% till the end. an action packed game and I'm looking forward to attending this weekends home game,I would like to see Lecom arena formally known till 2024 First arena host more events as I don't believe Elmira takes advantage of the potential the arena has to bring in sell out entertainment and having open ice skating would be a plus as well, more for family's to do would be a win win for all.with that being said all in all it's a great little venue, just go you won't be...
Read moreThere's just something walking into an ice rink... The smell of ice, the cool crisp air, the rush of the events, etc. However, the First Arena is extremely lacking. The whole building is nasty, smells bad and just generally looks dirty. I refuse to use the public bathrooms at the First Arena, due to the fact they are wickedly unsanctioned. I would rather use an outdoor port-o-potty. As far as, ticket sales, ticket prices, deals and discounts go they are pretty decent. We've gone to 3 Enforcer games this season for free. For one of those games I did, however, pay for an upgrade... 4 Tickets upgraded to center ice cost us $16. We typically bring our own snacks and drinks because their price for snacks and drinks are ridiculously high. But I've been known to purchase some popcorn or a pretzel once in a while. In all honesty though we've never had a bad time or experience at the...
Read moreI watched an Elmira Aviators home game and they left it all on the ice. The event center itself was very clean, and well secured by Amric Security with help from the Elmira police. The concessions were efficient and had short lines all be it a little pricey. (Let's face it, you know all event centers are a bit pricey on food and drink, it's how they stay in business) The game was rough, with a solid gloves off uppercut type fight right in front of our seats. The extras like 50/50 and chuck the puck were great adds that gave you more to hope for than a win from the Aviators. I'm not a sports guy by nature but this was a great time and I watched nearly the entire game, it was that intense. (Sorry I watched the whole fight, I mean game and I never once got my phone out for a pic or vid, there...
