The scenery on the boat ride is beautiful, and the boat crew is very friendly. That was the positive.
When we arrived, there were no signs/markings indicating where the boat docks; we only saw signs indicating where to park our car. We walked around trying to find where to wait for the boat. We eventually found an unmarked dock, which we assumed was where the boat would pull up. Once on the boat, we found seats on the top deck under the small awning. Most of the top deck of the boat is uncovered. Since we were under the awning, and most other people seemed to want to be under it as well, they stood right in front of us, so we could not see out from the boat. Other patrons were talking very loudly over the narration, so we couldn’t hear what was being said. We got frustrated and went downstairs to the inside cabin. There were a lot of spiders in there, and the bathroom smelled like fish. It was also very difficult to hear the narration even though we were sitting directly under a speaker. After the cruise, we went to one of the nearby restaurants within walking distance. When we returned, a chain with locks was blocking the entrance/exit to the parking lot. Our car was chained inside. Yet the sign at the entrance to the lot states that the lot is open from 5am-11pm. It also states that the parking is for both the Pride of the Hudson and the waterfront businesses. I would not recommend this trip...
Read moreI am hoping the cruise itself is better than the experience leading up to it. I purchased promotional tickets through sweet jack and attempted to make reservations as a surprise for my wife. There is nobody that will answer the phone to take the reservations (as you cannot use their ticketing service for these promotions). To make a long story short, they got back to me in a reasonable timeframe, but they called the phone number I had called from and NOT the phone number I left in the message. So the "surprise" for my wife came when she listened to our voicemail. There was no more surprise and I was livid.
The company told me that I should have said not to call back the number I called from. I guess that's because they don't bother listening to their messages. If someone leaves a call back number, call that number. Not...
Read moreGreat narrated boat ride..tickets are $33 for adults and $22 for kids. I found a local flavor coupon for 2 adults for $33.00, so that was great! I would make bookings in advance. Lots of parking is available near dock but inwould arrive at least 15 mins before departure to secure a seat on boat if you dont want to remain standing. Seating is available on top (partial shade), in front and inside the cabin (a/c). There is a bar open for drinks and snacks, including alcohol and hot dogs.
Tips are appreciated for the crew at the end of the cruise. I wish they had some small merchandise for ourchase at end of trip like a hat, tshirt of even a fan. It would have been a nice touch.
Then after you could have a bite at the many restaurants along the strip. We tried Blu Pointe which was nice...
