I used to really like the food here until tonight. My friend and I, and the table next to us got the penne alla vodka and sent it back because it was too salty. The rest of our order was fine (meatball sliders), but I politely told them about the pasta thinking I could have a nice dinner with my friend before having college graduation. The hostess at the front with the blonde hair told us with extreme attitude “Well, Next time —-YOU should just ask for less salt.” Excuse me ???but….it literally tasted like ocean water??? How is that my fault when I’ve literally eaten here before multiple times and it did not taste that salty. You can seriously get sick from this and send people to the hospital for too much salt. Lastly, how dare you talk to me that way??? Meanwhile the chef tried it and agreed it was salty. Next thing I know a few things went down and the table next to us stormed out saying they’ll never eat here again. And our very sweet waitress came back completely crying her eyes out. Poor girl shouldn’t be crying over something that isn’t her fault and could have easily be corrected. Girl, if you’re reading this you deserve better.
Luckily it was corrected and they took it off our bills but at the cost of some upset staff, customers, and costing time and the restaurant’s money. In the end I paid the rest of my bill and gave my crying waitress a tip. They made a ‘new’ entree but it’s not even worth eating at this point. Y’all just lost 4 entrees worth of $$$ from having poor team communication and problem solving skills.
As a staff, there is a better way to address issues like these instead of blaming it on the customer, your wait staff, or any of the staff in general. Mistakes happen. Resolve them. When you don’t—-that’s how you lose...
Read moreFirstly... what is this place? I can't quite say but it felt like a home for hipsters created by upstate NY transplanted Italians who've never actually hung with hipsters. Even more confusing is the shared space usage with this place and the Hudson Taco. After walking in and being seated while watching the waitstaff walk by with trays of tacos... I literally wondered where I was. The relationship with Cosimos is ambiguoius but if it works it works. I guess its like Dollar Tree proudly presenting Family Dollar. Anyway, the atmosphere here is quite pleasant, with a lovely view overlooking the Hudson, making it an ideal spot for drinks and casual conversations. However, if you're expecting the dining experience to match the ambiance, you might be in for a surprise.
The pizza is okay—relatively flavorful but a bit greasy, with a crust that's nothing special. Don't expect NYC-quality pizza this far up the Hudson or the wood fire flavor you may associate with Cosimos's pies. The real disappointment, though, was the fried chicken wings. They were flavorless, tasting like they came straight from the poultry aisle into the fryer without any seasoning. Despite their relatively good crunch, the lack of flavor made them quite disappointing.
I noticed more people ordering tacos from Hudson Taco than pizzas from this place, which made me wonder if I’d made the wrong choice. I might give this place another shot, but I’ll definitely be skipping the...
Read moreJust for a reference, I've eaten at the restaurant at least 3 times and ordered delivery from the restaurant about 4 or 5 times. Because of all the positive reviews, I've given this restaurant multiple chances but this restaurant has been a complete disappointment.
Dine-In: First the service isn't great, almost every time i went, it took me 4 to 5 minutes to even get acknowledged by the server let alone get my order taken. Second if you order something that's not one of the pre-made pizzas, it will take a long time for you to get your food. We ordered some sandwiches with french fries and it took us almost an hour to get it. Third the food's not that good, the pizza and the sandwiches are okay at best but some of their other food is pre-frozen. My friend ordered a calzone and it seem to be heated in a microwave because it was hot on the outside but Frozen on the inside.
Delivery: Delivery takes forever, every order I placed took at least an hour to get to my house, mind you I live less than a mile away from this place. Because it took so long for the food to get to my house, the food would always arrive cold.
I don't know where all these positive reviews are coming from, because I have not had one positive experience with this place. There are pizzerias in Newburgh that serve better food, at a better price with better service without the pretentiousness of pretending to be an...
