Hudson Valley MOCA — Attraction in City of Peekskill

This museum uses it's juried/open exhibition to increase membership numbers. They require artist submissions to pay for a full membership at the museum on top of a submission fee. It seem unethical to milk struggling artists to increase their membership numbers rather than doing the real work of a museum by finding rich patrons. I went to see the museum Friday the 27th. I rang the bell not knowing weather it was open or if that was how to enter. Turns out they were closed for install. A very rude woman came out from the back and Scolded me. I hope to go back after install and enjoy the museum. Interesting and unique pieces from local artists and more well know and interesting exhibits. Not very large but just enough to spend a few hours. It was a nice visit with some cool modern art pieces. The only thing I would say is the entry price should be a little lower.
