alex manager salsa fresca edwin
On Friday, March 8th I came into your Peekskill location on Main Street during my lunch break to place an order for a coworker and I. That would be my first time ever being at that location and your business overall so I was excited to taste the food and see what all the hype was about. Little did I know that would also be my first time facing prejudice and discrimination at the hands of one of your employees and also “manager”. From my first point of contact with the male worker that came to make my bowl I was talked to rudely. I mispronounced “baja chicken” because I don’t speak spanish, but even then if that and the regular chicken are all you have I don’t know why the boy gave me such a hard time making sense of what chicken I was talking about and rudely said they didn’t have it. If it weren’t for a kind customer behind me telling him baja chicken with her own pronunciation then I wouldn’t even have been able to place any orders and would’ve walked out because the boy refused to understand what I was talking about simply because I didn’t say baja in his accent. The second incidence was when it was time to pay I needed a receipt so I pressed print instead of email, but it was once I pressed print that the same boy said “our printer is out and not working”. This really frustrated me because that’s a notice that should be given PRIOR to customers selecting print cause had I known then I would’ve chose the email option. I understand not all customers care for their receipts, but I especially did being that like I said earlier I was there not just for me, but also a coworker so I NEEDED a receipt as proof to show her the amount she owed me. He went back and forth with me for a while about me being persistent on needing one before annoyingly sighing and mumbling “negra” underneath his voice and walking away to get a manger. Later I found out that negra means nia/nigr in spanish. When the manager came he gave me a hard time too until he finally said okay just come around the counter and take a picture of our screen for your proof to your coworker. I paid the second order and proceeded to get my drink at the station. While filling up my drink up something told me to check my app rewards and that’s when I noticed they only put in my rewards for just the ONE order and not both. I went back to politely ask for assistance because now with not having a physical receipt I wasn’t sure how else I would be able to add the second order for rewards and the manger was arguing with ANOTHER customer about the same receipt situation because she wasn’t made aware that the printer was out of order and was afraid she’d been double charged being that she’s using her credit card. The manager proceeded to keep checking out other customers and ignoring me before I finally said “can you please just help me because my lunch break is coming to an end?” and he aggressively responded “there’s nothing I can help you with NIG**R, just contact customer service”. I was appalled and so hurt by his verbal abuse that I simply asked for a name and walked out to my car to cry. The name given to me was Alex and Edwin. Shame on you Salsa Fresca that these are the type of ignorant, racist employees you have running your establishment in times like today. It’s 2024 and I didn’t deserve that type of treatment just for trying to support the company. I came in happy, giddy, and excited for my meal and left frustrated, perplexed, saddened, and...
Read moreOrdered from here online to pick-up. Guy behind the counter shoves a bag at me without saying a word or making eye contact. I check the order and none of the sides we ordered are there. Then, I notice we ordered 5 meals and there are 6 in the bag. Only one burrito is marked. When I tell him he says, "So, give me one back." I'm wondering which random burrito to give him, but tell him I'm taking them all because I'm not going to open them all up to see which isn't mine. Get my sides, don't notice until I get home that none of the sauces were in there either. Also, of the random burritos none of them were the one I particularly ordered. I guess some poor people were shorted a burrito and hopefully they liked my order. Not going back any time soon. Even though the food tasted pretty good even...
Read more2 stars, only because the food is quite decent... However, Just an awful customer experience every time: And I do mean awful. It's as though they hired experts at stress management, operations, efficiency, signage... and then did the exact opposite of everything they said. Food is great: trying to order it, and watching the staff stumble over each other, misuse the equipment, having to coach and remind them what you ordered why you're there, what they still have still get you, who is next... It's truly unbelievable. If you tried to screw up an experience, really tried, you couldn't possibly do it better. I'll happily eat the food: I will NEVER, EVER set foot in one of these ever again. Impossible to believe there is a franchise behind this that allows this level...
