This is my favorite taichi location - it has the best seating and atmosphere with outlets available at some seats if youd like to plop down to work. The service here also tends to be more consistent in my experience, though they have forgotten my poke dressing before, and one time had to wait 20 minutes for their ramen broth to heat.
As far as food goes, not the best ramen, poke, or donburi I've ever had, but it's much, much better than I expected to find, and they have generous portions. Their gyudon and ramen taste authentic and are solidly good, just not great. Their poke is highly customizable which is pretty much my only personal requirement for good poke.
For desserts, I wouldn't bother with the donuts, macarons, or mochi. The mochi is the packaged kind you can get at the Asian grocery, and the donuts and macarons are simply not quality. For mochi donuts, mochinut is better. The new shaved ice is pretty good though - it has the right texture for taiwanese shaved ice/bingsoo, but the serving size is HUGE! I always share it and haven't finished it once. I have only tried the milk tea flavor ice which is yummy, not sure how the other flavors are.
As far as drinks go, their milk tea is solid, and I haven't had any complaints about any drink I ordered. I'm addicted to the honey pomelo hot special. Half sugar lets the white pomelo flavor shine! If you like citrus flavors I...
Read moreToday I ordered two items to go: one bubble tea and one ramen. The food itself was just okay—not great, not terrible—but what really upset me was the staff. One of the employees, a thin white guy, was completely impolite and borderline discriminatory. He spent over five minutes speaking patiently to the two customers before me, but when it came to my turn, he rushed through the entire interaction. He spoke so fast that I could barely understand him, and the whole order process was under two minutes.
I also felt confused at the checkout—he charged me over $25 (with a few cents I couldn’t even catch), while the screen only showed $24. It felt shady and dismissive.
As someone who has lived in Rochester for 10 months, I know my English is clear enough, and I’m well aware of my own language limits. But when someone suddenly speaks unnaturally fast and sarcastic, it’s obvious they're doing it on purpose to make you feel unwelcome.
I left feeling insulted, and I definitely won’t be coming back. I don’t know how much this employee gets paid, but service like this is...
Read moreThis is my favorite Tai Chi in Rochester; first the ambiance is relaxing and inviting as soon as you walk in and there's always good music playing. The staff were super friendly, attentive and patient with us. Tonight was the first time trying a rice bowl at Tai Chi and it was very delicious, everything tasted fresh and my boyfriend had the Pokemazing, and there were no complaints whatsoever. We also ordered the Taro smoothie and the Lemon Peach tea, 10/10! AND if we weren't already happy, we were offered a donut, which made our day and was extremely soft and delicious. What I love about this place is that there is tons of options on the menu and there's never an issue with seating when we go. I would eat here every day if I could. They genuinely care about your experience and want to make sure you leave happy. If you haven't tried Tai Chi yet, do yourself a favor and get there ASAP. You...
