A good place to start exploring this charming town from. If you come from the train station like we did, you can already admire the tranquil town center with its interesting stores and cosy cafés on the way. After taking a look at the historic rooms of the house, we walked on to Rye beach, which was totally worth it because you get to see the well-kept residential areas of Rye along the way. Rye is definitely worth a visit if, like us, you need a day off from noisy New York City. Rye can be reached in 45 minutes from Grand Central. 👍

I really enjoyed how the square house went into detail about how Geroge Washington visted there and how the revolutionary war went through my hometown is very interesting. In my opinion my favorite part was the bed they showed us and how the bed did not have much padding but they still viewed the bed as comfortable. Even though the house is small in today’s day and age the house was very large back in the day and was a critical stopping point for very powerful people. Overall the square house museum is a place that has so much history for a place located so closer to me that it’s very meaningful to me because it’s a significant place in my town as it’s the located in the center...
