Paid 9$/game to bowl & left with a damage on my PHASE 2 STORM ball. Most of the damage occurred over the track of my ball and thats why i’m writing this review.
I went bowling @ paradise lanes last night, February 16th, 2024, from 10:45pm-close. Within that hour of play, the amount of divots, gashes, and chips that accumulated on my ball was ridiculous! I attached photos of my ball and color codes the damage respectively.
Yellow circles - show all of the the same consistent gashes in length with some wider than others.
Blue circles - show all of the identical divots.
Green circles - show the giant chip taken from my thumb sleeve.
Red - shows the gouges (albeit shallow, thankfully).
I really hope that this bowling alley can fix these issues with their lanes. It’s unacceptable for a bowling alley, THAT HAS LEAGUE PLAY & TOURNAMENTS, to not fix these ball returns. I used to bowl here much more often about 8 years ago but to see the lack of up keep, especially on the upper level, is saddening.
Will more like than not, go back to either homefield in yonkers or bowlerland...
Read moreEdit: Friday, September 2, 2:23 PM. I loaded up five kids and one friend into the car, drove half an hour from the city to here, on a Friday afternoon. I paid $1.75 in change for parking, and then both entrances were closed and locked. Their website says it is open, but they are closed!! Pretty annoying to use change that would have been better used for washing laundry, gas, and time. Plus I have disappointed kids.
This place is cheap, which is nice, but it’s also unimpressive. They don’t open till 1 pm and are closed Monday and Tuesday. There is no free parking. There is a parking lot around the back, but you have to pay for it, and the pay machine would not accept either of my credit cards, so bring cash. parking is cheap as well (25 cents for 20 mins), just something extra that’s annoying. And finally, there is no drinking fountain, nor did they sell bottles of water. All of my children were thirsty and uncomfortable so being...
Read moreThis bowling alley was a major letdown. The location is inconvenient and hard to find, tucked away in a high-traffic area near rundown businesses. Upon arrival, the facility appeared neglected and unsanitary, everything from the shoes to the restrooms and stairways felt unclean and outdated.
The staff seemed untrained and uninformed, offering little assistance and showing no urgency when technical or facility issues were raised. The lanes were in especially poor condition, lacking oil entirely, making it feel like we were bowling on bare concrete. When we asked about it, we were told only league bowlers receive proper lane maintenance, an unacceptable and dismissive response.
There was also no food service available, yet prices remained unreasonably high for the subpar experience. Overall, I would not recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a quality bowling experience. Serious improvements are needed...
