Tu Cafe Restaurant — Restaurant in City of Yonkers

Nice local option.

I'm not even sure of the name of this place as I believe ownership might have changed at some point or two. On Google, it's 'Tu Cafe' - on Yelp it's 'G & M Coffee Shop' - and on the menu I have it just says 'Cafe'.

I've been here several times, and it's been a reliable, nice option and local business.

Place is comfortable. Not overly large, but there are plenty of areas to sit both at a table or at the counter. I've only ordered to go, so I have no comments about the in-dining experience.

I've only been ordering breakfast items, but upon last visit I decided to try more options the next time I come here. But the breakfast I have ordered has been good each time. The hot food behind the glass looks appetizing and I plan to try that next time I pass by.

Staff has been friendly. I've mainly dealt with the one in the front and she's always very pleasant and welcoming.

Parking is metered street or the municipal lot on the next block. Don't take chances without paying, because the parking violation police are here checking very frequently. For locals of course, walking is the best option.

Without a doubt the worst experience I've ever had so far with a restaurant and the seamless app.TuCafe was downright rude when dealing with my problem. They didn't know who the driver was, but they gave me the number of the driver, whom they kept referring as a him but was a she. I called her multiple times going straight to voicemail. Then over an hour later I get a text saying that the driver tried to call me and left messages which she didn't, then I get a text from the Seamless app saying the food was delivered. When I called TuCafe restaurant back they just suggested Uber eats for next time and that they use GrubHub, not seamless. Obviously not knowing that they are the same company. I call Seamless and they won't refund me, offering me 50% off on my next order instead. I talked to whom I thought was the manager, Riz (?!?), and he said he couldn't give me my money back. I was put on hold and they kept me waiting. Finally a manager, Claudia, was able to help me. I shouldn't have gone through a two hour ordeal to get bacon, eggs and toast. There was a series of missteps here that were truly confounding. #seamless #ubereats...

I'm giving them 2 stars because after ordering from this establishment at least 3 - 5 times, I can say their Cheeseburgers are pretty decent (not the worst I've had, but not the best either). However, their French Fries are usually very dry and lacking in flavor. Today we ordered a BLT which was drier than sand, the Yonkers burger we ordered was flavor-less, and The Italian Grilled Chicken sandwich I ordered was horrible (the meat was dry, and there were no onions and peppers to be found ... and though I asked them not to put Tomato Sauce, I asked for Tomatoes ... but I didn't get those either). The only way either one of us finished our meals was by drenching it in Ketchup. The worst $26 I...
