Oakland Cemetery — Attraction in City of Yonkers

Beautiful cemetery with grounds & views that reassure you this is the perfect place to lay your loved one to rest. Easy to get to via car, Metronorth or Bee Line buses. Make sure to get flowers from any of 2 flower shops nearby (5 min. drive) that are uphill or at Shoprite.

The most special person in my life - my Mother (Elsa Maria Massy de Canario) is buried here. She is walking distance from where my favorite artist of all time (Earl DMX Simmons) is buried, so I know that not only is my Mother with God but that a warrior's spirit (DMX) is guarding this cemetery from vanadalism.

The staff at the office are very professional & helpful as is the Caretaker(s) who maintain this lovely lovely land in the city of Yonkers. The men who do the landscaping are so kind that they've given me a ride down from Highland Meadows at the top of the cemetery when I...

If I could give a zero I would! How is it possible that a mother and father lay their child to rest and workers don't respect their pain! Please stop putting in the garbage the smallest things a parent can put on their child's grave! It is the only comfort they have 😡😡 let them take it out when they want! Is okay except is a hill where my family is burried I don't have a vehicle anymore so it makes it extremely uncomfortable to get up there by first public transportation second walking they should offer some kind of assistance with getting there . It's a very high hill . Also the hours are way too limited how about people who work? Need to extend those...
