This is an amazing trail. The old train tracks have been converted to a new nature trail that stretches all the way from New York City to Albany where it splits in to. Keep going north to Canada or turn West towards Buffalo. The entire trail is paved and relatively flat so it's easy on the feet. The southern section can be a bit annoying because of the constant drone of traffic from the Sawmill River Parkway. Once you get past Croton the path gets more woodsy and there's only local traffic street traffic to contend with. So far I've made from the Bronx to Brewster by just doing one section at a time.
