E J Murray Memorial Skating Center — Local services in City of Yonkers

I've been coming here for 50 years. GREAT Nice people work here. Bathrooms have been remodeled over the years & are Very Nice , but only 1 hand dryer & no paper towels, probably because people clog the toilets with them. 🤪 DEFINITELY NEEDS SMALL LOCKERS, ( like the one's in bowling alley's or like the Rinks had 40 year's ago !!!! ) Also DESPERATELY NEEDS Seating in main EMPTY lobby Room , so people can put on skates or easily exchange rentals for different sizes , without walking too far barefoot & having feet accidentally run over by others !!!! There's only a few & NOT ENOUGH benches, outside by rink & further away are bleacher seats.. You CANT EXPECT PEOPLE TO GO UP ONTO BLEACHERS with Rollerskates on !!! Very Antiquated & Needs a Desperate Update !!! Should be enclosed to Regulate air !!! Too Hotttt in summer for the short roller skating season & too cold in the wintertime for ice...

I called to ask a couple of questions about the rink and the woman I spoke to on the phone was extremely rude. I politely asked what the session times are and if it would be possible to film on the premises and went into a whole ordeal of how the cops would be call if I tried to film there. I said multiple times how I understood that no filming was allowed unless I rented the rink during said hours. But I was appalled at how this woman spoke to me, a potential customer, on the phone. She emphasized that filming could not take place because of the high volume of other customers during the public hours and accidentally referred to them as “minorities” when she meant to say “minors” and corrected herself. Went here roller skating for my daughters birthday party. Reserved 1 of the 2 picnic type tables at the entrance to the rink. Was able to setup balloons & party stuff. It’s $50 just to reserve the table. Staff was great. No outside food or drinks only the cake. Concession stand was open so was able to have guest order what the want & pay at the end. It’s only open from 8 pm - 10 pm on that Friday night. Has music playing also for skating. As for the rink, because it’s used for hockey, while skating you have be careful of the raised paint for the hockey...
