The natural soundscape of the area was truly remarkable, with the geophony—the ambient sounds of the earth, such as wind rustling through trees—and the biophony—the sounds created by living organisms, like birdsong—creating an immersive and serene atmosphere. However, the anthrophony, or human-generated noise, was primarily dominated by the sound of passing vehicles around the park, which occasionally disrupted the tranquility of the environment.
During my visit, I focused on capturing photographs of the surrounding natural beauty. While the landscape offered plenty of opportunities for stunning nature photography, sightings of wildlife were minimal. The only notable wildlife encounter was a pair of Mallard Ducks, which I was fortunate enough to photograph. Their presence added a touch of vitality to an otherwise quiet day in terms of visible animal activity.

Read moreGlen oaks park used to be a golf course, so it is big, and it has been converted beautifully into a multi-function park, with two soccer fields( locked at all times) three piers into the pond( quite nice, the plants collect most of the trash from the neighborhoods and so the pond is free of most debris) there are also two smaller ponds, and bathrooms( also locked). There is a bicycle repair station( working today) paved trails, lots of green grass and shade trees, picnic tables, and a small playground( seesaw, 7 foot rock climbing wall, spider rope monkey bars, and a tire swing. I see mostly Latino family's in the park, along with homeless people( probably why the bathrooms are locked) hanging out. I like to take my daughter to feed the fish and turtles. We have seen ducks, alagators, and bunny rabbits. Nice park, don't hang...
Read moreI walk this park every day with my dog, its a mile around. They keep this park pretty clean, except for the occasional homeless people sleeping here. I have never had a problem with them. A few leave trash around there sometimes, but it is usually picked up fairly quick. It is a very nice place to feed the turtles. They have three docks that go out over the water, and hundreds of turtles swim up to the dock looking for food, sometimes the resident gator will be swimming with the turtles under the dock. Overall it is so nice to have this park across the street...
