LOS CHATINOS MEXICAN CUISINE — Restaurant in Clearwater

I was excited to try a new Mexican place, being it is locally owned and not a chain. Reading the number of 5* reviews made me even more excited. This place fell F L A T. We were greeted immediately and sat. Only customers in the store. They quickly brought out our drinks as well as chips and salsa. While the salsa had a good flavor, the chips were very bland and flavorless. The waiter quickly tried to take our order, but we were not ready yet. We decided, and waited. The server was up by the bar area playing on his phone or something, paying no attention that we were ready. After nearly 10 minutes, he glanced up and saw me waving. He took our orders. The guac is homemade to order. It took a minute to get made and come out. Great texture and flavor, but that couldn't save the chips. I orders the enchiladas, which was 4 different kinds so I could sample many of the fillings. The ground beef and beans used were bland. The chicken was decent, the cheese one was really good. My friend ordered the Tortilla Soup and added chicken. The bowl of soup was HUGE. The soup, unfortunately, my friend didn't care for, there was no wow factor at all. She ate about 1/4 of it, and did not care to take the rest home. We have not decided if we will give this place a second try, if I do, will probably be at lunch time when it's a little busier to see if that makes a difference. Being the only table on a Friday night during the peak dinner rush time...

Went here for dinner, all day I was craving a good Mexican meal. When we got here the place was cute and small, sad there were no margs but still cute. Salsa was great, guac was old, took 20 min for a new water, server was not good. Left half way through our meal well actually one meal came out and by the time my slow eating girlfriend was more than halfway done with hers mine came after mentioning it twice 40min for food, okay stuff happens but then mine comes out 20 minute later and the beans were like straight water, steak was dry, and the meal wasn’t even put together all the way my steak was supposed to have grilled onions and when I mentioned something after already being upset offered to bring me raw onions. I work in restaurants as a server and I hate to bother because i understand things can be rough but even after waiting so long no one said anything not even taking a drink off for the inconvenience. Gave back my meal and gave my dogs the steak. I’m not sure how they do tables and who serves who but over all no one acknowledged the fact that I was sitting there with no food literally felt like a sad puppy. Will not be back. Really disappointing. Maybe if the whole thing was handled better I would give it a second thought but if the foods gonna take that long than you should definitely...

Chips were definitely burnt a lil or they don't clean their oil.

The salsa that comes with the chips Is practically the quality that comes from the can

3.we ordered the guac, it came out and I dug right in and sent it back immediately, the taste was so foul I almost left the restaurant right then and there, waitress apologized and said she'll bring out a fresh batch, why wouldn't it be fresh to begin with???

The burrito we got had some of the most chewy steak in it and the red sauce tasted like pizza sauce.

The red enchilada sauce was watery as can be, with very very little flavor.

We ordered birria tacos, those came out really good, but very stingy on the consume for 3 tacos and it's maybe 2 Oz of consume.

The pina colada tasted like a Virgin one, good but Def didn't have any hint of alcohol.

Will not be back, and I'm honestly wondering how the ratings are so high its questionable as to the legitimacy of...
