We recently had the absolute delight of playing Servants of Slight at Exit Games in Clearwater, Floridaâand it was pure magic from start to finish.
With all the glowing praise and numerous awards this room has earned, we approached it with high expectations and a bit of hesitation. Could it possibly live up to the hype? The answer: it didnât just meet those expectationsâit conjured something far beyond them.
Our Game Master, Jamie, was nothing short of enchanting. Doubling as both our guide and an array of in-world characters, she set the stage with immersive flair. She led us down a quiet alley and introduced us to our mission: we were to be initiated into the prestigious and mysterious Servants of Slight, a secretive society of magicians. But first, we had to find our way to the ceremonyâand nothing would come easily.
From the moment we stepped toward the unassuming magic shop entrance, the illusion began. With the flick of a metaphorical wand, we were transported into a world where magic felt real. This didnât feel like a traditional escape roomâit felt like weâd wandered into an actual, long-forgotten brick-and-mortar shop. Shelves lined with vintage magic tricks, glass display cases full of curious artifacts, and memorabilia from a golden age of illusion surrounded us, casting a spell of nostalgia and wonder.
The attention to detail was truly extraordinary. Every room deepened the immersion, drawing us further into the magical narrative. At one point, we even had to perform a magic trick ourselves as part of a puzzleâan inspired moment that blurred the line between player and performer. Itâs clear that this experience was built with passion, precision, and an understanding of what makes storytelling unforgettable.
What impressed us most was how seamlessly the puzzles were integrated into the world. Nothing felt out of place. There were no jarring mechanics or random tasks to pull us out of the moment. Every challenge flowed logically, each one another stepping stone on our magical journey, all guiding us deeper into the heart of the Servants of Slight.
Even the clue system was cleverly woven into the story. Instead of a typical screen, we were handed a cell phoneâour âdirect lineâ to the Society. Hints came through cryptic text messages, maintaining the illusion and adding an extra layer of thematic immersion.
We won't spoil the surprises that await youâbecause this is an experience that deserves to be discovered with wide eyes and an open heart. But we will say this: whether you're a seasoned escape room enthusiast or a lover of immersive storytelling, Servants of Slight is an absolute must-play.
It's not just a game. It's a journey into a...
Read moreWe recently did Pins and Needles at Exit Games in Clearwater, Florida, and we absolutely loved it. We walked in with a bit of apprehensionâitâs not every day you play a room thatâs won multiple accolades. But not only did this game live up to its reputation, it far exceeded our expectations. Our game master, Silvercloud, was phenomenalâplaying both the role of our GM and a variety of characters within the game. The âjob interviewâ at the start was equal parts hilarious and immersive, immediately drawing us into the strange and quirky world of Pins and Needles and its eccentric owner, Skinz. After leading us to the back-alley entrance, Silvercloud wished us luck, and the real fun began. Once inside the tattoo parlor, we were transported. The environment didnât feel like a typical escape roomâit felt like we had walked straight into a fully functioning tattoo studio, complete with a killer soundtrack playing in the background. The level of detail was outstanding. Itâs clear that immense care, research, and creativity went into crafting this experience. Every object belonged. Every puzzle was seamlessly woven into the story, guiding us naturally through the narrative without ever breaking immersion. What truly stood out was the logical flow of the game. There were no disjointed or random puzzles that pulled us out of the world. Everything made sense in the context of the setting and progressed with a clear purpose. The clue system was especially clever and thematic. Instead of a standard monitor on the wall, we were handed a cell phone and told it was a direct line to the shopâs manager. Hints came through text messages, which added another layer of realism and immersion. We donât want to give away too much, because this is an experience best discovered for yourself. But if you're an escape room enthusiastâor even just a fan of immersive storytellingâPins and Needles is an absolute must-play. You will not be...
