Kate said she was gonna spit in our food. 2:00pm-3:15pm
We came to the ice cream section after happily buying $400 worth of candy. After looking over the menu for 15 minutes, we decided on our orders. They didn’t have cucumber soda. My bf had to choose a different one For his float. Didn’t have kernel corn soda. Didn’t have elderberry soda. So I ask, “what sodas are you out of? Which ones do you have left?” We are pointed to the refrigerator. He decides on peach soda. He is understandably upset because there is no Indication on what they are out of. And then the card machine is not working. The manager says that when the machine isn’t working, there’s nothing she can do about it. There’s no upper manager she can call to fix it, she doesn’t know their phone number. We tell everyone that the card machine isn’t working, and about 3-4 people leave the line. Kate comes up to us, and says that we can’t do card, and people leaving the line “is not her problem”. We are put off by this attitude
That’s when we hear Kate, the one with glasses and brown hair, saying “put some spit in it”. The blond haired (pony tail, green shirt) girl laughs, and says “don’t tempt me”. My bf confronts them, and Kate denies it. He’s upset and asking her questions, claiming to call someone. The manager doesn’t hear a single word, though she is 10-15 feet away. She doesn’t come over to de-escalate the situation at all! He watches them make our food, and after sitting down I am unable to finish my food.
We confront Kate once again, and she walks away. The girl in the green shirt with blonde hair says “she didn’t say that. She said she would put a spin on it. I would do anything for Kate, she’s my best friend.” Clearly indicating that she would spit in our food just for Kate. The manager, in the red shirt, denies everything. “Kate could've never said that, she’s the nicest person in the world.” All three of my party heard her say “spit” as clear as day.
We find the store manager and explain it to him, he is kind and understanding, and gives us a full refund.
Honestly, all three of the people working in the ice cream section provided bad service. Kate with her jokingly saying she would spit in our food. Blonde girl saying she would do anything for Kate, when we are talking about spit. And the manager for failing to de escalate the situation when my bf first confronted Kate.
We had to find the store manager because none of the ice cream people offered a refund, or any sort of...
Read moreThis place is awesome! It was so fun walking through here. It is HUGE! Not only is it full of candy, as expected, but they have tons of candy from days gone by I never thought I'd see again! It was like a blast from the past. I didn't even know they were still producing some of these candies I haven't seen in years.
You can buy individual or bulk. They have tons of soda in glasses. The prices aren't crazy. There's a section of the store where they sell chocolate chips for melting and other bakers goodies. They also have a little soda shop where they sell ice cream.
The employees all seemed to be less than happy to be there, least wise the ones we encountered, especially the lady at the ice cream counter. That was rather unfortunate and I'm hoping it was just an off day for that.
Other that that, it's quite an amazing place. They also offer a little mini-golf course, but I think they're only open during certain times of the year. Definitely a place you should take the whole family to.
One of the things I LOVE was the wrapped scoops in the bulk sections. When you scoop from the bins, you grab your own, new, clean, wrapped scoop to use and when done discard it into a used bucket. Great practice!
I wish I'd take more pictures, but I was too involved in exploring. But we'll definitely...
Read moreBA Sweetie Candy Company is an absolute delight for kids and adults alike! With its fun, dairy farm-themed atmosphere and a variety of attractions, this place is more than just a candy store—it's an experience.
The candy store itself is a dreamland for anyone with a sweet tooth. From classic treats like Laffy Taffy and Warheads to modern gummy creations, there’s something for everyone. Kids will love pushing around their own carts, making them feel like “big people” as they pick out their favorite sweets.
The soda shop is another highlight, offering unique ice cream creations shaped like food items—think spaghetti and hot dogs but made entirely out of ice cream! While the food options are mostly ice cream-based, the novelty factor alone makes it worth a visit.
And of course, you can’t forget the mini-golf! It’s the perfect way to burn off some of that sugar-fueled energy while enjoying a fun outdoor activity.
Overall, BA Sweetie Candy Company is a fantastic place for a family outing, blending nostalgia, creativity, and fun into one sweet destination. Highly recommended for candy lovers...
