I have Radiculopathy, a very painful, herniated-pinched nerve neck. I do have a wonderful Pain Dr but Sometimes it gets so bad I can not control the pain and I'm in tears! We only had the terrible Southwest ER on 303 to go to. I was thrilled that the Cleveland Clinic opened an ER in Brunswick! I have to admit, I do visit the ER a little more then one should but there are times as I said, I can't control the pain I have and it almost makes you want to go to sleep and not wake up. Well this past week my neck started hurting really bad-and thought great the new ER is open I'll have my husband take me there. The DR I seen, DR. Prudoff was great. He understood the pain I was going through and treated me accordingly. He explained he could not write any RXs for pain due to I was with a pain management DR, I told him that's not what I was there for and he he understood. Thank you DR.
Unfortunately twos (2) later I found myself at the Cleveland Clinic ER again due to the horrible pain. I even apologize for coming back again! Yes it is embarrassing. I don't want to be considered a "Frequent Flyer" Anyway, I seen one DR, explained I was there two days ago. He said let me look up what they did for you and I'll repeat that. About 5-10 mins later another DR came in, don't remember his name nor do I care too. He was extremely rude. Ridiculing me how I have a pain management DR and I should be seeing him for this instead of coming to the ER. Yes, I do see my pain DR on a reg. base thank you! But when the pain gets so bad ESP after hours I'm told to go to the ER. He also scolded me saying, I can not give you any RXs for pain. Really? Once again that's NOT what I was there for. I needed their help with this chronic pain I live with. I was literally told I'm "Red Flagged" whatever that means and NOT, yes NOT to come back. Unreal. I understand, this was not life threatening, I still should have been treated in a more civil manner!
He ordered a pain shot that did nothing for me, (Someone that THINKS their a know it all on pain management should at least have the brains to know that pain patients have a high tolerance to certain meds not to mention the pain meds I was taking obviously were not taking care of the debilitating pain I was experiencing.) . Well almost all my DRS are at the Brunswick Family Cleveland Clinic. Due to the way I was treated only on my second ER visit at the Brunswick Cleveland Clinic ER? I will NEVER go there again and will make sure I tell my family & friends to avoid it. Shame on you for treating someone with such horrible chronic pain in this way.
I have health Insurance that my husband pays a lot for. Were not on welfare, these DRs-hospital, ER are paid very well through our insurance.
Hiring inexperienced incompetent DRs don't help.
I thought Southwest ER on 303 was bad.
Cleveland Clinic Brunswick, you lost me and my family as patient's already-
Are they looking for a Malpractice Lawsuit so soon after they just opened? Hope no one else is treated the way I was if you ever...
Read moreWe had to call 911 for my father in July 2015 in lakewood and took him to lakewood hospital ER. They did a blood test and think he may have leukemia since his white blood cell count is at 180,000. He was immediately sent to the leukemia floor of the main cleveland clinic for a bone marrow biopsy to determine if he has cancer. I'm told this must be done with haste as treatment must start immediately to catch something like this as fast as possible. Bone marrow biopsy shows he had AML LEUKEMIA.
My Dad, 69 years old is what we joke and call a "hypochondriac " and has made it a point to befriend all his doctors and have such a relationship with all of them that he has more then 5 on tap at all times that owe him favors. He does side jobs for them, works on their computers or handyman services for basically free in hopes that one day when he needs advice they will be there. My father's side of the family have all had some heart condition and none have ever heard the word cancer. Nor on my mother's side.
We start going through the motions of how we are to deal with this traumatic news and the oncologist recommends we start intensive chemotherapy immediately! That's the only way to treat this and it can be treated and beat he says. Sent some people in to ask us about clinical trials. It was too much to handle at the moment. Give us a day to process. Over night my dad had a stroke. Since then it has been a game of chasing our tails and some for of low dose chemo therapy to keep him where he's at because now that he's had a stroke he cannot participate in trails and I feel they basically wrote him off as a lost cause. Weeks to live. Here we are 5 months later and he was doing fine but caught pneumonia and ended up back in their care.
I have begged my father to change over to university hospitals. The cleveland clinic doesn't care about my father. They wrote him off months ago. Unless you are participating in research studies or from a foreign country I wouldn't trust them with strep throat.
They put a ventillator in my dad in the middle of the night in icu because he asked for something to help him sleep and they said he got upset and was breathing heavy. We were just with him hours before and he was fine. Now they have him tubed but in and out of light sedation so every time he wakes up he freaks out and he is cuffed to the bed so he won't rip it out. And he is seemingly panicking unable to communicate and they just give him a shot he doses off again and an hour later flip flopping like a fish. They explained if he wants the tube out he better calm down in that state or else it won't come out. Now he is hemmorage ng again and they are asking me if he is still full code! !. This is what happens when you take your family to the clinic. I learned my lesson. Let this warning save your father. I wish someone would...
Read moreSome amazing doctors, That's for sure. Appointment line staff is always very kind and helpful. But otherwise, the general customer service and administrative staff at all of Cleveland Clinic is pretty terrible from a customer/patient standpoint. Hard to get ahold of anyone on the phone, even when given specific phone numbers and told to call with any questions etc. Terrible communication from literally anyone unless you are at an appointment. Sometimes when arriving at appointments, the doctors are so rushed that they barely have any time with us. Actually had to recently go to a location physically to get paperwork confirming surgery dates (which I was supposed to receive a week ago via my chart), and when I got there I was told that the surgery is going to be pushed back another month. I was not made aware of this until I actually went there in person because I was so frustrated about not getting any information through mychart, daily phone calls made by me (all ended in empty promises stating that i would get my information in mychart that day), etc. Billing department is always behind and seems to care less if billing & money handling is correctly done or not. Always getting billed incorrect amounts and taking hours and hours of my time to get it set straight. Appointments, weather mundane or even for important things like surgery due to a painful condition, get moved around and rescheduled on a whim with insufficient communication. Appointments get moved after I've already filed for sick days with work. I feel like I have to call off work for days and sit on hold, being transferred back and forth to different phone lines for hours only to be told esentially that whomever I'm on the phone with can't get me the clarification I'm looking for or otherwise can't help. The only way to get anything that resembles decent customer service is to make a video appointment with my actual doctor and wait for that. I don't know what the deal is. Are they understaffed? Not paying enough to get good employees? Just bad management? They seem extremely unorganized and understaffed. Even clueless at times. Causing me and my family lots of headaches with zero regard for us (besides from the actual doctors we see, which like I've said, are excellent and the only reason we still use Cleveland Clinic.) This all happens on a regular basis. I love my doctors but am extremely frustrated and fed up with all of the time wasted and constantly changing information. If you don't already use Cleveland Clinic, I would suggest using another hospital system altogether and avoiding the massive inconvenience and disrespect they cause for their customers at...
