THREATENED TO PHYSICALLY ASSAULT ME Called several days ahead to schedule an appointment for a pre- purchase inspection and to give them details of the vehicle I was looking at to get a second opinion. The following day, I requested to have a compression test done as well while confirming the appointment. I was told there would be an additional cost, which I agreed upon with no problem (mind you the price was almost double the average cost of this job) Upon meeting to inspect the vehicle it was clear the "mechanic" was incompetent and certainly not certified. The mechanic didnt know nor do his due dilligence to realize that the spark plugs, which had to be removed in order to do the compression test were on the sides of the engine and decided it wasnt worth his time. This is a simple job that any competant mechanic could do in a timely manner. I even explained to him step by step how to do the job. They have clearly never worked on a Subaru because every vehicle produced by Subaru is built this way. Nor do i believe he has ever done a compression test because the compression test kit he was using was purchased the day of. I told him it wasnt a problem and he left. Five minutes later he comes back saying the "office" wants to charge me for a "coming out" fee. Why would I pay anything for a job that the mechanic decided not to do and had then left on his own discretion? After refusing to pay for a job that he had left and decided not to do by his own choice, I proceed to explain to him why this was. The mechanic then goes into a fit of rage not being able to utter out anything except for repeatedly yelling "so I came for nothing?" I continue to try and explain to him why this fee was illogical only to be followed up by verbal assaults and then threats to physically assauct me. In response to the owner There's seems to be a reoccuring theme with all your responses to negative reviews of not being able to take responsiblility for your faults and that "the customer is always wrong and we're right." That just goes to show what type of "business" this is. If you don't provide the service I was referring to then why would you agree to provide me that service? It would also be halfwitted to make the assumption that I am referring to a specific mechanic when I say "certified" because in all honesty your mechanics should be ASE certified as well. Meaning they should have the knowledge and skills to be qualified to be doing any type of automotive work. To say "we never have and never will - ever, threaten anyone with bodily harm" is a blatant lie. I remember specifically being called a "punk" and the mechanic saying he would "spin my head around the block." You literally can't make this type of stuff up.

Alex was super nice. He came the same day and helped advise me on whether or not to purchase the vehicle. He found a leaking radiator, front struts that needed replacing, and an evaporation code that needed to be addressed. The dealer agreed to fix all these items prior to closing the deal. Massive return on investment. Alex further encouraged me that the car, despite these issues was actually solid and worth buying if the issues were addressed (I've never bought a high milage car before so I needed this guidance). Alex had great communication and was super friendly and encouraging. Alex also really took his time and didn't rush me. He checked the fluids, codes, took the car for a spin. Poked around inside the hood and looked under the car. Where I feel that Alex could improve is having a legit check list. He seems super experienced and sort of just winged it. As an example, we collectively checked the rear lights, blinkers, etc as an afterthought. They all worked but that was almost missed. I didn't pick up the car yet so if other items were missed,, I wouldn't know about it. I do think that the major nuts and bolts were addressed and you can't beat how nice, friendly and encouraging Alex was. I legit got a 10x value worth of fixes/repairs compared to what I spent on the pre-purchase check. I would definitely hire him again.

Thank you to Alex for treating my daughter like family! I found myself in a less than desirable situation when my daughter drove her car back up to her NJ campus from MD, and after she turned her car off it wouldn’t start again. Once going through the rigmarole of using GEICO roadside to try and get the situation taken care of, we found this place. Alex asked various questions to ensure he had all the details of the situation but by this time it was late in the day so he got started on the work the next day. Long story short, Alex helped us out tremendously by identifying the problem, fixing it, and then spending additional time fixing a problem that was caused by the roadside assistance tow company. All this during Labor Day weekend too. I had to get back to MD, and Alex worked with my daughter in my absence to make sure she was taken care of. He went above and beyond by driving my daughter around to find the exact piece she needed for the repair when there was a mix up with parts that were ordered. He was able to fix the problem, help us save some money, and my daughter now has a reliable mechanic near her to help. This is her first car, and she’s also away from home with it. Going somewhere else could’ve easily cost us up to $2,000 in repairs so we really appreciate this. Thank you!

So I first inquired about a pre purchase inspection with Alex about 5 months ago. We talked and he informs me that his price for the inspection was $300. At the time that price was way out of my price range so I decided to book another mechanic. FAST FORWARD TO TODAY, I reached out to Alex for a different used car I planned on buying, he named the price as $250 and although it was still expensive to me, I figured it was worth it due to the fact I had been struggling to find a decent, professional mechanic in my area and he seemed nice on the phone. The appointment was confirmed & everything was fine until Alex calls me at 9oclock the night before our appointment, and immediately starts asking me about the mechanic I had booked prior to him. he had the nerve to QUESTION ME about why I went with another mechanic instead of him & also questioned why I was calling them now after I had a “bad experience” with the other mechanic. Almost as if he was mad I didn’t choose him the first time😂First of all, I don’t OWE my business or money TO ANYONE. I don’t understand why it would even matter who I booked prior to him. If I am booking you now AND you’re getting paid for the service, WHATS THE PROBLEM?? He takes business personally which is super unprofessional and just plain weird.

*RESPONSE: please show me exactly where in my review I wasn’t being 100% truthful…I’ll wait. And there was no “back & forth” during our first encounter because I simply called you to INQUIRE, there was no appointment set! As a customer(which I’m sure is something they teach u in business 101) I have the right to inquire about your price & services and if I don’t like it, I can go somewhere else. Simple math. Secondly, it’s not called being cheap, it’s called having a BUDGET. And my last mechanic’s services wasn’t “cheap” by any means, and since you were so familiar with him, I’m sure...

Warning for any drivers considering calling this guy:

I called him for help with my car and he told me there would be a charge for the diagnostic and told me he might not be able to fix it if it was an electrical issue, as he lacked the equipment. Since I couldn’t move my car from where it was, I agreed.

When he arrived, he found the issue – a missing rubber ring at the end of a cable – and told me it was something that he could fix. Seeing that I was stuck and had not many options, he decided to take advantage of the situation and charged me an high amount of money. I reluctantly agreed to pay because I needed the car fixed, and he also insisted on being paid in advance. That should’ve been a red flag, but I trusted him – big mistake.

He returned with just glue and zip ties and attempted to patch the broken part instead of actually fixing it. I told him that wasn’t a proper fix, just a temporary workaround, He got defensive and insisted he was a professional and knew what he was doing, but as I anticipated he couldn’t fix the car with that.

We agreed I would order the correct replacement part, and he’d come back to install it. He gave me a phone number to call, but it turned out to be deactivated. When the part arrived, I contacted him, but he never showed up. I had to call a real professional mechanic who not only properly fixed the issue but also cleaned up the mess this guy left behind — and charged me 70% less than what I had paid before, gave me a receipt, warranty and phone number for support.

Don’t risk your hard-earned money with someone who’s going to take advantage of your situation on first opportunity and not get your car fixed. As I later saw by some reviews he did the same to many people, so don’t risk, get someone with...
