THREATENED TO PHYSICALLY ASSAULT ME Called several days ahead to schedule an appointment for a pre- purchase inspection and to give them details of the vehicle I was looking at to get a second opinion. The following day, I requested to have a compression test done as well while confirming the appointment. I was told there would be an additional cost, which I agreed upon with no problem (mind you the price was almost double the average cost of this job) Upon meeting to inspect the vehicle it was clear the "mechanic" was incompetent and certainly not certified. The mechanic didnt know nor do his due dilligence to realize that the spark plugs, which had to be removed in order to do the compression test were on the sides of the engine and decided it wasnt worth his time. This is a simple job that any competant mechanic could do in a timely manner. I even explained to him step by step how to do the job. They have clearly never worked on a Subaru because every vehicle produced by Subaru is built this way. Nor do i believe he has ever done a compression test because the compression test kit he was using was purchased the day of. I told him it wasnt a problem and he left. Five minutes later he comes back saying the "office" wants to charge me for a "coming out" fee. Why would I pay anything for a job that the mechanic decided not to do and had then left on his own discretion? After refusing to pay for a job that he had left and decided not to do by his own choice, I proceed to explain to him why this was. The mechanic then goes into a fit of rage not being able to utter out anything except for repeatedly yelling "so I came for nothing?" I continue to try and explain to him why this fee was illogical only to be followed up by verbal assaults and then threats to physically assauct me.
In response to the owner There's seems to be a reoccuring theme with all your responses to negative reviews of not being able to take responsiblility for your faults and that "the customer is always wrong and we're right." That just goes to show what type of "business" this is. If you don't provide the service I was referring to then why would you agree to provide me that service? It would also be halfwitted to make the assumption that I am referring to a specific mechanic when I say "certified" because in all honesty your mechanics should be ASE certified as well. Meaning they should have the knowledge and skills to be qualified to be doing any type of automotive work.
To say "we never have and never will - ever, threaten anyone with bodily harm" is a blatant lie. I remember specifically being called a "punk" and the mechanic saying he would "spin my head around the block." You literally can't make this type...
Read moreSo I first inquired about a pre purchase inspection with Alex about 5 months ago. We talked and he informs me that his price for the inspection was $300. At the time that price was way out of my price range so I decided to book another mechanic. FAST FORWARD TO TODAY, I reached out to Alex for a different used car I planned on buying, he named the price as $250 and although it was still expensive to me, I figured it was worth it due to the fact I had been struggling to find a decent, professional mechanic in my area and he seemed nice on the phone. The appointment was confirmed & everything was fine until Alex calls me at 9oclock the night before our appointment, and immediately starts asking me about the mechanic I had booked prior to him. he had the nerve to QUESTION ME about why I went with another mechanic instead of him & also questioned why I was calling them now after I had a âbad experienceâ with the other mechanic. Almost as if he was mad I didnât choose him the first timeđFirst of all, I donât OWE my business or money TO ANYONE. I donât understand why it would even matter who I booked prior to him. If I am booking you now AND youâre getting paid for the service, WHATS THE PROBLEM?? He takes business personally which is super unprofessional and just plain weird.
*RESPONSE: please show me exactly where in my review I wasnât being 100% truthfulâŚIâll wait. And there was no âback & forthâ during our first encounter because I simply called you to INQUIRE, there was no appointment set! As a customer(which Iâm sure is something they teach u in business 101) I have the right to inquire about your price & services and if I donât like it, I can go somewhere else. Simple math. Secondly, itâs not called being cheap, itâs called having a BUDGET. And my last mechanicâs services wasnât âcheapâ by any means, and since you were so familiar with him, Iâm sure...
Read moreWarning for any drivers considering calling this guy:
I called him for help with my car and he told me there would be a charge for the diagnostic and told me he might not be able to fix it if it was an electrical issue, as he lacked the equipment. Since I couldnât move my car from where it was, I agreed.
When he arrived, he found the issue â a missing rubber ring at the end of a cable â and told me it was something that he could fix. Seeing that I was stuck and had not many options, he decided to take advantage of the situation and charged me an high amount of money. I reluctantly agreed to pay because I needed the car fixed, and he also insisted on being paid in advance. That shouldâve been a red flag, but I trusted him â big mistake.
He returned with just glue and zip ties and attempted to patch the broken part instead of actually fixing it. I told him that wasnât a proper fix, just a temporary workaround, He got defensive and insisted he was a professional and knew what he was doing, but as I anticipated he couldnât fix the car with that.
We agreed I would order the correct replacement part, and heâd come back to install it. He gave me a phone number to call, but it turned out to be deactivated. When the part arrived, I contacted him, but he never showed up. I had to call a real professional mechanic who not only properly fixed the issue but also cleaned up the mess this guy left behind â and charged me 70% less than what I had paid before, gave me a receipt, warranty and phone number for support.
Donât risk your hard-earned money with someone whoâs going to take advantage of your situation on first opportunity and not get your car fixed. As I later saw by some reviews he did the same to many people, so donât risk, get someone with...
