Went there today to sit for maybe a short time in the kids section, greeted by a librarian shortly thereafter in a "fully empty" kids section who mentioned that if I plan on staying a while I should move to the adult section upstairs as it is the "library policy" that adults are not allowed to sit in the kids section she was nice to mention that if I was staying a few minutes I weas allowed to stay there no problem. Not until today have I ever been asked to move to the adult section from any kids section in any library I have ever been in. So out of frustration, I got up and simply left the library that I would go to daily as I grew up in Clifton from middle school to high school all the way up until college because it was a nice quiet place with great librarians. Quite sad and I would love to know if there are any other libraries that do not allow adults to sit in the kids section because the town I live in currently has never kicked me out of the kids...
Read moreWe recently moved to Clifton, got a library card, took out some books, and then got scammed out of 30 dollars. One book was water damaged when we took it out, but because they failed to keep a record of this, the library charged us for the damage caused by another person. We love books, and are rather insulted. The woman at the counter literally looked at my girlfriend and straight up told her that she was lying.
By the way, this library is stuck in the 20th century and only takes cash payments instead of debit/credit. When we returned with cash and politely explained why we were upset, the man at the counter refused to make eye contact or give us any sort of verbal acknowledgement. I'm thinking this isn't the first time they've scammed someone out of money. I would have understood if they had been sympathetic to our situation, but said there was nothing they could do. Instead, all I got was rudeness. We will not...
Read moreClifton Library is the worst, I rented some books for my kid and when I returned them thru the book return box they claimed they were missing 1 book. I explained that I returned all of them like usual yet they didn’t care and sent me to court. I had to go to court (waste a whole day) to pay for the book which I returned in their outside book return and $33 court fees and $31 clifton ticket for not returning a book plus the cost of the book. Clifton Public Library not only do you forget you’re funded by our taxes, on top of that you incompetent people need to waste tax payers time and money. Clifton Public Library is the worst, if you need to borrow a book don’t return your book in the drop box outside (bring it inside and make sure you...
