As recently mentioned by Joseph, last night's Circa Survive and Brand New show was an absolute disaster. I drove over five hours to see a show that I wasn't allowed access to until it was half over. I was one of the lucky ones by getting in as early as I did. The lines outside for will-call tickets lasted for over three hours from when "doors" opened at seven. Show started at eight. They had a booth inside to check IDs and get bracelets for the bar with three people running it and they had someone at the door before both the 21+ booth and the will-call table checking IDs and also giving out bracelets. I can't fathom why this was a priority when they had hundreds of people outside waiting to get in. Will-call table was only run by two people despite the obvious need for all hands on deck in that area. There were four or so security guards sitting at the front door doing nothing to speed up the process. One guy drove a four-wheeler around yelling at people to stay in an orderly line which looked pretty fun. I could have cared less about getting the opportunity to buy one of their drinks when all I wanted to do was see the show I paid for. I've probably seen around one hundred concerts varying in attendance from 10 to 50,000. This has been the absolute worst experience with a venue I...
Read moreI believe a 1 star rating is generous for this place. I arrived at Seven Flags Event Center at 7:30 and had to wait in line outside for a little over an hour to pick up my tickets at will call. I missed the first opening act and I'm sure many people missed both opening acts since there were still hundreds of people in line when I finally got in. Upon getting to the door it seemed the hold up was that there was ONE security guard checking IDs and giving wristbands to people and two women searching through stacks of paper to find tickets. Since there was not a print at home option for these tickets I understand that more people were using will call than usual. However, Seven Flags was well aware of how many people would be picking up tickets at will call but still did nothing to remedy the situation. I have been to many concerts and have never witnessed such an unprofessional atmosphere. It seemed like there were no actual employees and they had simply found ten random people to work a sold out concert. I am shocked that they are able to call this place a venue. I will never return to Seven Flags Event Center and I strongly urge no one else to, no matter how much you like the...
Read more7 Flags seems to have learned from the debacle 9 months ago. I was there for the Kip Moore concert tonight and showed up a few minutes after the doors opened to find the line around the corner but quickly processed inside. There were "beer fairies" to provide bracelets to people at the back of the very long ID line, separate from the ticket line.
HOWEVER, and that's a big however, the bouncers/event staff didn't care at all about underage drinking or (most importantly) altercations occurring in the crowd. I tried multiple times to lead someone to where the fight was happening, but he never followed. I told him details but he misremembered them.
Also, there is only one non-smoking bathroom (the rest were port-a-potties in the smoking area), and in order to leave the venue one must pass the large outdoor smoking area. This did not mesh well with my allergy to cigarette smoke.
All in all, I will not be revisiting this venue unless it is one of my favorite artists, in which case I will pregame heavily to stomach the filth and violence that are...
