The owner was polite and helpful, but the experience was saddening and unexpected. I drove 1hr 30 minutes to this shop to buy cards at what I thought was going to be a fair price. However, I was sick to my stomach when I noticed the prices were significantly higher than retail prices. For example most blaster box of sports cards costs usually 19.99 retail. These same boxes were priced at $65. The same goes with the mega boxes and everything else. It was also sad to see large lots of single cards individually priced in white boxes. There is no hope at finding hidden gems at all here. Infact there are plenty of 7th round no name draft pick rookie cards priced at $7-10 a piece instead. There was plenty of Pokemon etb's lying around because Brilliant stars etb's were priced at $70. Again retail these are $40 all day long in any other store. I'm not usually a complainer, but anyone who understands the process of distribution of product towards hobby stores, understands that their is scalping going on All this product is sent to the store at a lower price than retail so profit can be made. The fact that the prices on these boxes are over 3X retail price and equivalent to eBay pricing shows me the owner is taking advantage of a booming card market and taking advantage of customers. The only way this can stop is if people stop buying product at these ridiculous prices. I wont comment on the buying side as I never bought anything......But a few years ago sold by consignment several items with them that they put online for auction.....At the time there was an employee that was always great & helpful but I don't think he is there any longer.....The owner was the opposite.....Almost every time I brought something in he would whine & groan because he didn't think it would sell......But most of it did sell and made us both money. It was really annoying. He even once felt the need to charge me extra for shipping some of them.....Ugh. This place is Awesome. A gem in the rough. Staff is pleasant and knowledgeable. I brought some cards in from the 90s, Thought I had BANK after watching tiktok and they were so informative. Come to find out I had Junk Era cards.. Not worth what Tic Toc had me believe. The big guy, Roberto and (I swear someone called him) Col. Sanders, helped sell my cards on their Saturday Bid Board Auction. It was over around 2:30 and I had my money by 4. I was going just toss them, but helped me get quite a bit of money. What other place would help sell your cards they had no need for. Just an all around great place. People hanging out and having fun. 5 Stars. Need more customer service...
