My kid played Clover recreational softball last fall season and this spring season. Practice and games are canceled at this field just about as often as they are held. The first practice of this spring season that was supposed to held at this location was canceled because of field conditions. The fields need to be re contoured for better and proper drainage of the outfield and outfield spectator seating area. The outfield holds water for weeks on both fields and it spills over to the walk way between them making a muddy mess on the concrete. If your kid gets a hit out to the grass, it has no chance of rolling any further. It embeds in the mud and grass where it hits instantly. It's amazing that Lake Wylie got a few astro turf fields with a drainage system for the kids to use. However, Clover can't even get an off season grading job and reseeding to get the 4" of muck and mud that we had to endure for the fall softball season of the field. The concession stand was NEVER open even during a game. The York fields had a concession stand with drinks and snacks every game we played there and the fields were never puddled with water and the grass area was...
Read moreI love this quiet little park which is tucked away here in Clover. It is usually well maintained & free of debris. There is a nice paved walking path. One part is located mostly in the sun, circling the parking lot, and another connecting walking path goes through the wooded area. (Be careful as some of the path through the wooded area has seen better days, as tree roots have affected some of it over time, etc.) There are 9 holes of disc golf, a small play area for kids, a fenced-in horseshoe pit area, a couple small pavilions you can rent, a fenced-off baseball (maybe soccer? Don't remember) field. There are public restrooms in the backside of the small building past the stadium seats by the baseball field. I don't know the hours it's officially open but when I go on the weekend or during the week, it's...
Read moreI took my 2 yr old grandson here to get some exercise before getting him ready for bed. He is on the autism spectrum and those who experience this; knows how kids on the spectrum have a hard time sleeping. He took off running down the path all the way to Murphy's pond all the way around to Centre park. We finally had to turn around to go home. When he got to the playground; he decides to go for a slide. He had fun but it had rained so he was very wet! I believe it helped...
