I shop here because it is near my home. For the most part, staff is friendly, but they don't have a lot of variety, especially when it comes to specialty items. I was looking for Pasta Zero, which, according to their website, was in stock. I could not find it anywhere. After an hour of looking, I asked an employee who was stocking shelves. She asked me if it is gluten free. I said it just so happens to be, but that I was buying it because of the zero carbs. She informed me that "all of the gluten free items are over there". Well, it wasn't. In case you're looking, it's in the produce section. Another time I searched for rice cakes for over an hour. I finally asked (because I don't like to disturb people when they are clearly doing another job) and the employee took me right to them. So, overall, I do like the prices and the occasional free stuff and will continue to shop there. HOWEVER I will shop at ALDI when I'm near one. If there was one in Clover, Food Lion would be my...
Read moreI like the little "Produce Room" :) I usually go to the Food Lion in Gastonia, but the majority of my list was grocery, so I decided to change it up and head south instead of north. Glad I did.
I rarely buy produce aside from an occasional bag salad in NC because I'm picky about my produce. The Clover store's produce section is adorable! They have the usually cold stuff in its own little room with usually room temperature produce just outside that room. The quality offered was good enough that I also grabbed some fresh cherries and considered bananas.
I liked the Gluten Free wall. I found the prices to be good, store cleanliness and stock was good, but they don't carry some items I use so I will need to go shopping elsewhere to grab those (base coat nail polish, Sargento String cheese).
Most of my MVP coupons came up on the receipt (it missed 2 that I was kind of upset about), and both kiosk coupons registered. Overall, it was a good shopping experience and I...
Read moreI do what I can to avoid this Food Lion, even though it is the closest to my home. Every time I go, I am disgusted with the produce; moldy berries floating in juice, the asparagus is soaking in nasty brown water, mushrooms are shriveled, the bags of spinach, lettuce are squished so badly that they are soggy when opened, bruised fruit and tomatoes. The shelves are frequently not stocked. 2 out of 3 times I go there, they have no fat free milk. The meat is poorly packaged and looks questionable. The last straw today was when checkout took 20 minutes because they left a new employee (2nd day) alone, to no fault of her own, to flounder with processes she didn’t...
