I think ATC is an acceptable school but it could be better. By better, I don't mean the teachers, I mean the actual students and PARENTS themselves. One student that will stay unnamed said she is "coming for 2 students." I don't know what that means and who she meant by that. But, that alone should be enough for these parents to control their kids. They need to teach their kids some respect and discipline them. Your child is an accurate representation of you. If you are disrespectful, it will show. If you are talking back, it will show. I've only been at ATC for a couple of weeks in my second semester and I already wanna leave this school because of these very few disrespectful kids. The work load is a little more than middle school, meaning you have to try a little bit more. It's easy if you listen to the teachers and take notes. But, the one thing I must complain about is one teacher that will be unnamed, GIVES OUT DETENTIONS for not having your ID. Now, I understand I am supposed to have my ID for the seven hours I am in school, BUT if I FORGET you can penalize me. I will take full responsibility. But, if the teacher gives another student of their ethnicity NOTHING. That is unfair. This supposed teacher was being disrespectful just because I am of another ethnicity. Other than that, I do suppose the school is acceptable and is a good school. Just make sure, if you are a freshman, remember there will be kids that think they are BETTER than everyone else, but, in reality they are just living a big fantasy. Don't feed them attention because that's what they want. Don't give it to them. If you are being nice to them and they are being mean, it's better that way than being mean, and you're putting yourself in every other way more mature and respectful and you are a better person...
Read moreLets just say I am glad I didnt sign anywhere yet. I went for Orientation for the Legal Admin program. I already applied and got approved for Pell grants. After orientation I learned that if you opt for online classes as I do not live in the Coconut Creek area, online courses arent covered by Pell or the textbooks either. Per the FAFSA definition of a Pell grant it is to cover all educational needs including classes whether online or not and also the textbooks are included. So I would have to come out of pocket for both the tuition and the books. Why does Atlantic dictate as to how someone's Pell grant money is to be allocated? Something is off with this school and I am not getting good vibes. It feels predatory and discriminatory [financially] as well. I also checked into Workforce One help as advised and that too was a lie. The 2 programs I wanted are not on the Workforce One site and most of the programs listed on there now say Pell eligible. I feel that Atlantic is trying too hard to be like Broward College. The advisor for the Business Admin needs to update their information as most of it is very inaccurate. They shouldn't be answering Financial Aid questions as that should be strictly for...
Read moreif your looking for a bad time, a waste of money, potential and just don't wanna use your time wisely just attend Atlantic technical collage. i had the misfortune to think i would be taken serious about my carrier but they truly only care about your money nothing else you cant even change your professor. i had the displeasure of knowing Mr. chandraksan who not only failed to teach correctly if at all but was disrespectful due to asking question about assignments that weren't even in the syllabus. It was so bad i even UN-enrolled from the class. I waited months for open enrollment to start. From the staff not even trying to help with paperwork that is required, going to speak to someone is just as difficult because they aren't even there they are working from home. everything was a challenge from start to finish and this TRADE SCHOOL NOT 4 year university. the staff should be ashamed to calling themselves ANYTHING...
