Easily the best place around for specifically Korean ingredients. There are a lot of smaller catchall Asian grocery stores around but this one specifically caters to those hard to find foodstuffs that I crave. I first got into Korean food in 2020 thanks to youtube videos, and as a whole Korean cuisine is just so delicious and healthy, I can't get enough of it. Can the food of an entire culture be comfort food if you have no prior experience? I don't know, but it's so good, and I love Koa Mart.
They have everything you need from quality packaged items, fresh produce, ready to cook meals, and more and more frequently packaged ready to eat items that are DELICIOUS. The dumplings, the tteokbokki, the meats and various sides are always so good. My personal favorite is when they have bulgogi kimbap, but it always sells out before I get there! (Highly recommend checking their Instagram stories for ready to eat foods on a day to day basis. I also signed up for a few specialty orders through the app.)
I would describe Koa Mart as a small, local H-Mart. Definitely go here if you want quality items for a shockingly...
Read moreKoa Mart is a new Asian grocery store in the Village Shoppes of Coconut Creek, an open air shopping plaza on the corner of 441 and Wiles Road in Coconut Creek.
Koa Mart specializes in Korean food but they also carry the ingredients you would need for Chinese and Japanese dishes. The store has a freezer and produce section along the perimeter and the pantry items are in the middle of the store, Popular items include ramen noodle cups, mochi, frozen dumplings, and Japanese sake.
My favorite section was the snack and sweets aisle with fun flavors of chips and cookies including Hi-Chew, pocky, and shrimp flavored chips. They also sell kitchen gadgets, novelties, and even beauty products. I recently had popcorn with kimchi seasoning and it was addicting, I plan on coming back for that seasoning and some of the thinly sliced beef ribeye for Korean BBQ.
The store is so clean and bright. It was bustling with happy shoppers and smiling staff ready to help. What a great addition to the plaza. I am so glad that this market opened in my...
Read moreI have been going to KOA Mart since they opened. While not as big as other Asian Markets they are close to where I live and I have been able to find the Korean things I need there. The real draw to this place though is their fresh, homemade, Korean snacks/foods they prepare and set out around lunch time. The Japchae and Triangle Kimbap's are my absolute favorites, along with the KFC (Korean fried chicken). They post their "lunch menu" daily on their Instagram. Not to be left out is their homemade Kimchi which is found in the refrigerated section. It is SO GOOD. Their Kimchi is way better than the one from Oriental Mart... AND they also sell homemade Doenjang - something Oriental Mart stopped selling - a MUST for ssam sauce. I also like the seasoned garlic stems, the balance of spicy and sweet is just right. The staff are all very nice...
