Kohl's — Attraction in Coconut Creek

I used to love this store years ago when I lived in NY. Nice clothes, great sales, etc.

I had an experience today that will make me never return to this store again.

The main fitting room was not labeled as a women's or men's fitting room. I thought it was for both. I was with my 15 year old son shopping in the young men's dept and we did not see any fitting rooms in the men's dept. I also had never shopped for him for clothes in this store before, only for myself, so I had no idea there were separate fitting rooms. While I was waiting for my son to exit the fitting room, I heard someone screaming at him to get out of the fitting room and go to a men's fitting room. I was horrified. I walked in and asked the employee who was yelling at him if there was a problem and she took a nasty attitude and said he had to go to a men's fitting room. I said that was my mistake, I did not know and she started going off on me about how a woman stormed her freaking out about a male in the fitting room. I was sickened as to how this woman treated my son and I. I complained to the store manager who nicely gave me 30% off my sons order which I would have left behind if he didn't really like what he picked out for back to school. I AM NEVER RETURNING TO THIS STORE!!! THIS WAS MY SECOND HORRIBLE EXP HERE.

The first horrible experience was getting followed around the store by store security when I was shopping with my kids a few years back. The security person was not at all discreet and I was disgusted that my kids saw this person following us like we were common criminals. It took me years before I could step back into this store to shop again. When I finally did, the fitting room incident...

I had a bad experience here. I came in with a gift receipt to exchange my perfume I had received as a gift. When I came in the associate, emlyne, told me to find any perfume of equal value ($150) and I’ll be able to do an even exchange. When I picked the perfume I wanted emlyne then told me I would not be able to do an even exchange because at the time the gift was purchased it was a different price($138) so find something that is $138. I then asked to speak to a manager and Angelica who I believe was the Sephora manager came to assist and pretty much told me the same thing. Then I asked to speak to a store manager, Meline but she was too busy, so another manager came to assist I didn’t get her name but she was Jamaican woman. When she came and tried to assist and she also told me the same thing. So I then said if both perfumes are now $150 and she (emlyne) told me to find something of that price to exchange, why must I be inconvenienced because your associate told me the wrong information at the beginning, is there anything you can do to accommodate me because emlyne told me the wrong information and the Jamaican woman manager said “no, so what do you want to do?” Very disappointed in how this...

I know some people who just think this chain is the greatest, but so far, I'm not seeing it. While this location is a little better than some that we've seen, it's still nothing special.

They do have some good names on their fashions, i.e. Juicy Couture, but when you look at them, you can tell that they are not made up to the same standards as the Juicy that you see in other stores. I was looking for something to wear for a special event, but just didn't see anything that I liked, and that's pretty unusual for me.

I think the best part of the store is housewares. They had some very pretty holiday linens, and the quality didn't look bad, but the prices were pretty high.

My friend with whom we were shopping was looking for a coat, since she's going to Chicago for Thanksgiving. She asked the clerk at the check-out, who thought that they probably didn't have any, and if they did, he wasn't really sure where they might be. Really? The store isn't that big. We did find some, but nothing suitable for Chicago. Where were they? In the front of the store, just to the side of the cash registers!

Maybe it's just me, but I find better quality and selection with similar prices at...
