6 Acre Wood Park opened in 2003 and is a quarter mile loop trail that travels through pine flatwoods. The trail is accessible from Hillsboro Boulevard and the Winners Circle Trail but there is no parking lot. Along the trail you will see signs identifying plant and animal life that are indigenous to the area. As you walk you can be on the lookout for the Carolina Wren, woodpeckers, beauty berry, bald cypress trees, and poison ivy. 6 Acre Wood Park connects to Covered Bridge Park via a trail that runs between the two parks. This entrance is on Hillsboro Blvd, but you also can enter from Holmberg Rd, Covered Bridge Park. From Pine Tree Estates take the trail at the end of the North side streets. It will take you all the way East and then turns North towards Hillsboro. Make a right on Hillsboro and this park is right there. You will end up on Holmberg Rd and can loop back towards Parkside Drive. Try it on the bike to see how many miles before attempting to walk it.
