My family of four love escape rooms and we ended up doing 5 different rooms this weekend. The two rooms at Escape Keystone are definitely one of the best. Both rooms are pretty large compared to most places and we were blown away from the decoration and level of detail, especially in the prohibition room. This place is inside of a historic warehouse that now sells antiques so they used a lot of the antiques in the design of the rooms. It’s pretty impressive and they have a story that’s tied into the history of the area as well. Don’t want to say too much to ruin anything but definitely give this place a try. Street parking here is easy and free and when we went we were lucky enough to be hosted by one of the owners who built the rooms. It was a really great experience. We’ve had rooms with great guides before and that always makes a big difference but to be hosted by the person who built the rooms was another level. He saw we were interested in how things worked so he indulged us with some of the mechanics and that was pretty cool. Sort of like peeking behind the curtain. All of this after finishing the rooms of course! We actually read amazing reviews of this place during the summer but it was completely booked so we came back a few months later in the fall and booked early. They are going to open a third wizard style room in a few weeks so we will have to come back for sure. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. The prohibition room was easily one of my top 2. It’s got a great mix of theme without feeling commercial (like a mall escape room), different types of puzzles so it’s not all locks or number puzzles, a great story as your progress so it makes sense, some decoys to throw you off and a good mix of electronics with mechanical.
I wish Escape Keystone only the best and hope they keep continuing to do well so we can keep coming back as they expand...
Read moreThis is a really fun Escape Room. The location used to serve as a stop on the Underground Railroad - and they've integrated that into some of their rooms. All of the set pieces are time period appropriate - you really feel like you're back in the early 1900's. The puzzles are challenging without being gimmicky. Without giving anything away - there are some very elaborate and detailed mechanisms in here which will blow your mind after the staff explains them...again, i won't spoil it, but you HAVE to go here and see what i'm talking about!!
This location also has an Ax throwing range - like where you can actually throw axes at targets. They also have a golf simulator. It was very reasonably priced compared to other venues too.
Lastly, plenty of roadside parking - as well as a free parking lot within a block. You can walk from here to local antique shops, microbrews, restaurants, and the Turkey Hill Experience (a few blocks). You could make this a fun day trip for...
Read moreMy wife and I just went to Escape Keystone with several of our friends. We are all escape room enthusiasts. We did the Columbia Jailhouse room and had a blast! We've done a lot of escape rooms in the Lancaster/York area and we all agreed that this was the most fun that we have had in a room. The room was well constructed, the puzzles were challenging and very well thought out. Shawn, even though he doesn't spell his name correctly, was an excellent host/gamemaster/owner. We talked for a while afterward and were asked what we liked or didn't like about the room. It's refreshing to find owners who are concerned about making sure that everyone has an enjoyable experience. That said, there was nothing not to like about our visit. We can't wait to go back and try the other rooms at...
