I normally drive further to Publix but yesterday I opted to go to this food lion because it was closer and late at night. I have to say that I won't be coming back again. The cashier was extremely rude. She got upset at the way I was putting groceries on the conveyor thing. My daughter heard her saying something but I didn't because she mumbled. Throughout the whole time she was saying (mumbling) that we were rude and kept on singing songs about Jesus. All I wanted to do was to hurry up, get groceries and go home. The store was closing and I think she was purposely slowing down because she was mad at us. They only had 3 cashiers open and lines of people waiting to cash out. As we were leaving, my daughter said that she began to say bad things about us to the next customer. It is bad enough that the prices are high but now we need to deal with bad attitudes and inability to communicate properly. I will continue to go to Publix where customer service is always a plus....
Read moreI went to this Food Lion and spoke with a manager who was very helpful about ordering a unique specific and kind of milk for my newborn baby. He was kind and most helpful. Most of the staff usually are. When I called to find out if the milk was ordered, I encountered an employee named "NaToya" or "LaToya" who had an attitude and was rude. On top of that, she hung up the phone after telling me the store doesn't carry this brand of milk. Hence, the special order. This is not the type of employee that needs to answer the phone. I called back and was put on hold but to no avail. I waited 3 days for this milk order. Now I have to start the process again elsewhere. This is sad because I really like this store, but if this is how the customer gets treated, I'll do my shopping elsewhere. I give it 3 stars instead of 1 because I don't want to let one bad experience poison a readers disposition towards a...
Read moreI've been down here about a year in Columbia and since move very close to this Foodlion location and there don't seem to any other grocery store in the area. I really don't have a choice but to shop here. But when I first started shopping at this location it seem like they were always out of the basic things I need. They would be out of sugar, grits, bread all the time. And the shelves always looked empty. The fruits and vegetable section would always be lacking and you could tell they weren't rotating out the product like grocery stores suppose to do and hardly ever do the have reduced prices on the items that were getting old. I know food prices have gone up but from where I'm from....( Rock Hill SC ) the Foodlion had the best prices....not the case down here...They are just as high as the Big name stores. Come Food lion. You know most of your customers are low...
