ALDI — Attraction in Columbus

Aldi is the store for friendly service, quality and great prices. The inventory is deliberately limited to core items. However they have a variety of gluten free products and low carb items as well. Think basics like bread, vegetables, can goods, dairy and meats. Then add in excellent wines, limited soda flavors, chocolate and frozen food. Throw in bagging your own and having a quarter to rent your cart while you shop. Bring reusable bags or pay a nominally amount to buy their bag. Then there is the famous Aldi Finds in the "Aisle of Shame." This affectionately area has an ever changing variety of goods at fabulous prices. I have never dealt with a rude employee at any Aldi until today. When asking how to manage an Instacart return, the guy took the items like he was going to be able to return them through the checkout. He then went through the whole process of trying to push through the return, all the while condescending me and never clearly explaining that all instacart returns are only made through instacart. He could have been clear from the start that the items could not be returned to the store. He threw the items, unopened in boxes, in the garbage. I get that the cashiers are focused on speed and efficiency at Aldi, but being rude and unhelpful provided awful customer service to me and the rest of the customers that had to wait in line behind me while I tried to figure out what he was trying to do. I don't see what the fuss is all about. People complain about self check out at walmart, and yet.... this is 10 times worse! 1st, you have to pay for a cart, 2cond check expiration dates, 3rd price check, and the prices are not thar much cheaper and the quality... oh my! NO THANK YOU!! Most of these products are generic! And I can get brand name for just a bit more. The meat... no... just no! It looked like it was ready to die.. 4th, you check yourself out AND pay for or bring your own bags!!
