I had a great experience at Swenson's today. It was my first time dining at Swensons Drive-In. There is indoor dining, Call ahead ordering, and Dining in The Swensons Drive-In. Upon arriving at Swenson's Drive-In, you pull into a spot and leave your lights on to indicate that you would like to order.
A friendly Server/Runner (Quinton) came out immediately to take order. Quinton moved very fast and often ran to his destinations even though it was 92 degrees out at the time. My server was Quinton and he had a great big smile on his face the entire time. It was obvious he loves his job.
I had the Quarter Pounder Plus and French Fries. The total came out to be around $ 6.50 which is extremely reasonable and the food was an extremely good value compared to other restaurants with drive up/thru or dine in service. The food came out very hot and fresh. The Quarter Pounder was delicious and was a good size Cheeseburger with great flavor and the French Fries have a nice flavor.
They have a very wide menu and the prices are extremely reasonable. They have Milkshakes, Hamburgers/Cheeseburgers, Sloppy Joes, Chicken & Fish Sanwiches, Egg Salad, Pulled Pork, BLT, Fried Bologna, Hot Dogs, Fish, Chicken, Vegetable sandwich, Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. They have Shrimp Dinner, Fish Dinner, Chicken Finger Dinner, Chicken or Shrimp Snack. They had French Fries, Onion RIngs, Fried zucchini, Fried Mushrooms and more. They have a children's menu. They also have desserts. Overall, I will be back for the quality of food and service.
I feel like Swenson's is a step up from normal drive through fast food and is more like restaurant quality food. Swensons Drive-In New Albany will replace my drive thru and fast food meals for sure. I contacted the Manager AJ to compliment him on the exceptional work ethics of Quinton, the fast service, fine quality of the food, great prices, the appearance and overall experience of eating at the Swensons Dine-In,...
Read moreI got Swenson's today after seeing a few road side signs last week and hearing it was the best burgers in America established in 1934. Originally thought this was a Columbus establishment but it's really from Akron Ohio.
I went with original double Galley Boy, technically 2 and limited time strawberry cheesecake shake, let's not forget the jalapeno tots.
Turn your headlights on to let them know you want to order, you can stay and eat or pull away, no drive through and no protection from the rain hence the lower atmosphere rating. It was raining today go figure.
My order was taken at my window, very nice guy and you pay when they bring you food instead of up front.
My burgers came with the olives on the outside of a double lined foil burger wrapper just kinda hanging out there in the bag with the other loose items bouncing around and collecting on there. I still ate them of course, I mean you came this far right, go for the experience. I removed the olive and toothpick to reveal the prementioned double wrapped burger holding back a red sauced underwhelming looking burger stack... Seeing as though I so wanted to see a burger that looked like the sign I had been staring at... It didn't resemble it at all in my option. Opened minded, I'm thinking this could be the next best thing to a McRib honestly. I quickly devoured my burger looking to place the taste of the double sauces, they are famous for...I thought at first bar b q, perhaps the tangey Arby's red sauce that comes on a beef and cheddar and then it hit me, it's like the sauce of a Manwhich. You can decide and let me know what you think of it.
The cheesecake shake available for a limited time was not bad. Nothing there was bad, just not exactly what I expected from America's best...
Read moreI've come here for such a long time. Every visit has been pleasant. I never tip less than $20 regardless of what I purchase. There are a bunch of college kids, I like to tip them well. Most times they have to approve my tip with the manager because it's at a higher amount than the purchase. I've only received amazing service until yesterday. This girl was so rude to me and she stole my money. I was leaving the country club, my husband was in a tournament, and he gave me his winnings to shop for. I stopped by Swenson’s for a smoothie, and fries and to bless my server with a big tip (like always do). I ordered and gave her the money. She went inside, came out, and told me they couldn't accept any bills over $20. I explained that I only had cash on me. I apologized and asked her did she wanted to take it back. She replied, “Yeah, since you can't afford it.” I was very taken aback by her disgusting do and words. I had a $10 bill on me so said I'll just take the milkshake. She took the $10 bill and left. I don't care if it was a couple of dollars in change, she did not deserve a tip. She made me feel afoul. If she would have just said we don't accept large bills. That's fine. Telling me I couldn't afford something and then Dudley talking my money and ignoring me about my change. That's theft. Maybe she didn't like my skin tone. I don't know. But I'll never return and I'll let everyone with the same skin tone as myself know that we are not welcome at Swenson's. I took this picture from a different review....
