I visited every possible jeweler in the state of Ohio in search of the perfect engagement ring that was not a mass produced hunk of gold that are a dime-a-dozen nowadays. After months of searching the entire state for the one ring that as soon as you see it, you’ll feel as if the universe made something only you were destined to have. So I gave up looking for a couple months and began losing hope. The covid-19 pandemic finally reached the U.S and It was about to teach me a hard lesson. The girl I love was in New York on business when the government declared a national emergency and applied the health safety restrictions on the public. She became stuck near NYC for a couple extra day’s until she could safety make the trip home, she contracted the virus and down there. Her flu-like symptoms very quickly turned into her body shutting down and only a couple days passed before she couldn’t breathe on her own anymore so a ventilator was used. It was almost a full month later when I received a call and was told the ventilator was removed the night before and all signs are pointing to recovery. When I hung up the phone I went to finally find the ring I almost never got to give her. The universe must have lead the way because I found the ring I was destined to give her, at the very first place I went too. A place I somehow must have missed during my original search that happened to be 6 minutes from home. DP&J was the place, as soon as I walked through the doors they showed such hospitality toward me. The owners Jim & Sophia both happen to be highly educated in the field and will make sure you understand exactly what it is you’re buying especially when diamonds are involved. They won’t try to push you into buying something and are the only true professionals of their craft who want to truly see to it that every person looking to them for fine jewelry will walk away with only the finest of pieces. In my particular case I needed not only to find a ring but to pick out the diamond and have it set all before the following day when she was being transported home and I didn’t want to wait another minute to propose and begin the rest of our lives together so DP&J went above and beyond in order to see to it that I would have it ready and in my hand that very same night. No other jewelers would do such a thing for a stranger none the less and I bet every single one of their first time customers become lifelong customers after the first visit. I have to say that Diamonds, Pearls & Jade is the finest of all those in the fine jewelry business. There are no words in existence that are worthy enough to describe the excellence that is DP&J and its owners Jim and Sophia who also happens to be one of the worlds best jewelry designers that is responsible for creating some of the most breathtaking pieces you will ever see. I am not a person who normally gives written reviews of places online or anywhere but I felt the need to spread the word and give credit when credit is do. If Jim and Sophia are reading this, I have to tell you that she absolutely loves it and I ended up using that POSSLQ line you told me, it worked beautifully...

Astonishingly low quality service and unprofessional staff. I am not sure whether the actual owner is still managing the store any more, but the staff member named Joe is terribly disorganized, arrogant, and rude. It has been my most regretful decision this year to walk into this store because of the awful shopping experience.

I went to look for an engagement ring for my fiancé in the store because they had a nice collection of men’s rings on their website. Upon my arrival, the store goldsmith helped me out by telling me that men do not wear jewelry, which caused much confusion since there was obviously a section called men’s jewelry on the website, which lead me to expect that they would have expertise in that area. Later the staff member named Joe, who seems to be the store manager for now, told me that they could order rings from a brochure, and they could put whichever kind of gemstones on it; so I let them go ahead and did that, which turned out to be a big mistake. They seemed to forget that I placed the order (but did not forget to deposit my check) until I called and to check the progress on the ring. When I finally got the ring, it was covered by fingerprints, and I thought, fine, I could clean it myself. After cleaning it with my jewelry cloth, which is very soft, I noticed that there was a big scratch on the ring, the gem stones were not aligned vertically. After my fiancé tried the ring, he also mentioned the inside was very rough. These problems aside, the ring looked very cheap overall and totally not worth what I paid. We brought the ring back to ask for a repair for all the problems, but Joe appeared to be offended. When I pointed out the scratch on the ring was not natural, he told me that 14K gold is very soft and super easy to be scratched and I should not question him because he had a 25-year experience working as a jeweler. Maybe the ring is easily scratched, like Mr. Joe insisted, but the ring was in the ring box provided by the store the entire time, and the scratch was obviously caused by the mishandling of the store, but they refused to admit it, insinuating that I was at fault. This is unacceptable and insulting. Even after we addressed the problems of the ring to Mr. Joe one by one, he said that he could not fix some of the problems, even though they sold this ring. I felt that the low quality of the ring disappointed my expectations and wanted to request a return. However, it was only at this time—after the purchase—that I was informed of the store’s return policy; this ring was a special order and could not be returned.

In the end, we took the ring to a different jeweler and fixed the problems. They did an amazing job and the ring looks so much better now. I definitely will never come back to this store and I do not recommend anyone shop here. It was a stressful and terrible...

Once you've made an appointment and met the most exceptional couple in the jewelry business; you'll never want to shop anywhere else! Our experience was incredible. My adult daughter and I were there in search of jade jewelry for my wife and mines 35th wedding anniversary. We found the selections to be unique and exquisite. Pieces that you'll never see anywhere else. The knowledge that both Sophia and Jim hold is unbelievable. They make you feel most welcomed in the store and your given the attention like no other place I’ve been. Since it's by appointment only, you’re the only one/s they're focusing on. They give the personal touch like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. They were able to satisfy my every wish with finding that very special jade necklace with jade earrings adorned with diamonds. The three pieces made a beautiful gift to present to my wife at a fine restaurant over dessert. The wait staff delivered it on a plate and placed in front of my wife. I can't thank Sophia and Jim at DP & J for helping to make our 35th celebration a complete success! We're looking forward to our next visit.
