Bishops Cuts/Color — Local services in Columbus

First cut was amazing. Five stars.

2nd cut: cut was decent, not exactly what I wanted but it was an okay cut and I needed a cut and i didn't want it rushed and messed up even more. I kept saying I wanted it choppy and it was textured and thinned out. Waxing was not as good and they only had time to do one of my two waxings, even though I scheduled a week prior to the appointment. I was supposed to have a color consultation but they didn't have time for that either because they were 30 minutes late for my appointment. I'm a bit upset. They should have had someone take over if they didn't have time for me. I've been a long time Bishops client at other locations and never had this happen. I didn't want to say something in the moment because I would have caused a scene so I wanted to sleep on it to see if I was still mad and I am. They didn't even make up for it or ask me if i was okay not getting all of my services complete. I was just pushed out the door so the next appointment was done on time. Fk that. Five stars to one star. When you don't have time to do what a client booked for, either have 2 people cover it or book them with someone else or finish. I went and got a bleach and a color. The atmosphere was nice and everything, people really nice, and so on. However, the stylist really dropped the ball when it came to my hair. She didn’t bleach it for NEARLY as long as it needed to be, nor did she do the bleach properly. I have brown spots (my natural color) on my hair, and parts of my hair barely retained the color while parts have very strong color. This isn’t shading, it’s a bad dye job. She also didn’t spread the dye evenly nor did she leave the dye in for as long as it needed, and she didn’t take measures other places do in order to get the dye to stick. With tip and regular cost, it was roughly $160. I got a bleach and color at another place a year ago (one they said was not great, as they price based on the speed of which someone is in and out), and it was much better, costed $40 less, and took longer. That dye job was very even, their bleach job was steady and thorough, and overall 10x better than Bishop’s. I kept a couple stars because of the nice service, but my hair looks... not great. Patchy, faded in some places and bright in others, and probably not going to last very long. Stick to haircuts, and you...

Finding a new stylist gives me hella anxiety. Like I will put off a haircut until I can't put off no more anxiety. I lost my stylist early-Covid, she moved away. My daughter's hair always looks so cute and if she trusts them, then I trust them. First timer today. I had an appt with Lindsay W. First time ever, I'm pretty sure, I've went to a stylist and gotten exactly what I wanted. She was great! Not just the killer cut, she also made me so comfortable. Any lingering anxiety out the window. She made me laugh. All around 5 star service. Loved the shop, it has a great style and vibe to it itself. Music was stellar too.
