Very dissatisfied with this mall. Drove from AL over to check out their Torrid, Victoria's Secret and AtHome.... let's start with entering, upon entering from the AtHome entrance... you see what appears to be security guards all hanging in the security office goofing off and sitting around (interesting considering they're in uniform so you'd think they may be I don't know at work or something). From then on, we walked towards the Victoria's Secret, upon entering a girl greeted me wearing slides and talking with slang. (I wouldn't have even of guess she worked there) as relaxed as her appearance and slang language was displayed which is a far cry from how the past VS employees that I have encountered have presented theirselves. I walked around and browsed and the clutter was outrageous, it was their semi annual sale so i can somewhat understand but when the employees are just walking around speaking with their colleagues when clearly some organization needs to be done then I don't feel the least bit guilty for mentioning this. I browsed for not even 10 mins because the clutter and disorganization put a terrible taste in my mouth and I left. After leaving I then went to Torrid, first of all I have been shopping with them since I was a teen and I am now close to 30. I have never EVER seen such a filthy uninviting store period. Upon walking in the girl working behind the register didn't acknowledge me, just kind of smiled upon seeing me... didn't verbalize any sales which I know for a fact Torrids employees are notorious for and acted like she just didn't want to be bothered. Ok, that's fine. I know how to help myself and map myself around a store.. I find 2 pieces of clothing that I wanted to try on. I go back to the dressing rooms and there are cut off tags, clothing, hangers the whole 9 just hanging out in rooms back there so it's very evident that the dressing rooms weren't touched in a while. The dressing room was disgusting to say the least and smelled awful. I was so agitated that I just placed the pieces on the go back rack and left and will never go back to that location again. I thought the store in Mobile, AL was bad.... oh no, Columbus definitely takes the cake. When leaving here we just decided to leave all together. This mall is a joke, it's dark and dim as you're going through the halls and the majority of the stores are playing hip hop music and appear to have shoes, club apparel and more shoes in all the stores minus a few. If you're used to classier, NICE (WELL LIT UP) malls then do yourself a favor and drive elsewhere. I'm not usually this harsh with reviews but after driving almost 2 hours my disappointment was...
Read morePretty great mall, for a medium sized town. And I don't say that sarcastically; realistically it's not going to compete with large fancy places like they have in big cities like Atlanta, but it is:
-Clean. Not the newest or most state of the art place, but it's still very nice on the inside, and not going into disrepair like a lot of places in similar towns. -Safe, for the most part. Security seems very present and in control inside, but there have been a few incidents in the parking lot before. Just like anywhere in our modern society, though; keep your wits about you, and pay attention to your surroundings, and chances are, you'll be fine. -Bursting with shoe stores. If you are a sneakerhead, you should be pretty happy. I won't name them all, but they have literally almost major chain that has stores in the South in Peachtree. -Bustling; there is a pretty darn good selection of shops and department stores for pretty much anyone, and the food court has a good amount of basic restaurants, as well. The only thing I could say there are really missing is a retailer for larger electronics, TV's, etc. but the Best Buy is only about a block away.
The mall is almost always pretty abuzz with activity, and I love to see that. Nowadays online shopping and the large outdoor, strip mall-type shopping centers seem to be so popular, so Peachtree is actually a refreshing throwback to the 80's and 90's mall experience for me. One of my favorite things to do is actually just go there with no specific intentions; just browse around and talk to people; it's kind of a lost form of entertainment these days.
In summary, you could take the whole family there on a Saturday, and easily spend a good 2 hours without anyone...
Read moreReally cool mall! Love all of the stores! Zumiez is probably my favorite! Cool game machines everywhere, a bunji cord trampoline in the center, great food, and polite and cool workers! Plus it's right across from Columbus State University, so it's a really convienent place for students and visitors to get cool clothes, games, furniture and other stuff, and is also a really cool place to hang out during your free time! The only issue I had, some shoes shiner offered to demo his polish on my friends shoes, and wouldn't take "no" for an answer, as we repeatedly told him no. He ended up dragging my friend over there by the hand and cleaning one show and asking $20 for the other shoe. As we were walking off, he said "I don't even get a tip!?" I personally thought it was funny, but my friend did not, as he walked around for a week with one really clean shoe, and one dirty shoe. But, it is still a really cool mall, and we haven't seen the shoe cleaner guy since that one incident. I think his stand was evicted. Overall, great mall, highly recommend it to anyone looking for...
