Used Kids Records — Attraction in Columbus

Very nice independent record store. They specialize in vinyl. They have sections for each genre but the new releases are right when you walk in. They're mixed in all together. So you could check there first. Then the section and look at the back stock below the bins. Special releases and new releases might be on the shelves on the wall too. They do have CD's but they're in just in boxes in the side room and not in very good order. They don't care about them and it shows. I buy both vinyl and CD's but if you're just into vinyl. You'll enjoy this store a lot.

The staff will let you walk in and shop. They leave you alone which is what I prefer. I always know what I'm looking for and don't need help. If you do have a question. Just ask them and they'll be more than happy to help you.

Parking is in the back. They have a lot or you can park on the street. My favorite parking spot was the alley in between but that is for the smoke shop now.... sucks because I liked parking there. What a great store! I’m from Virginia and came to Columbus to move my nephew up for grade school. After asking a few locals about record shops in the area, Used Kids Records was at the top of everybody’s list. Upon my first visit I now know why! I found something that I have spent years trying to find.......The selection was unbelievable..... I meet the owner ( Craig ). He was super nice, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer my sisters, as well as my own questions. My sister bought a turntable and speakers for my nephew he even helped carry it to the car...Though I live in Virginia I asked about buying online and having it shipped to me in Virginia he said it would be no problem. I’ve been here for four days and the best part of this trip has been my two visits to Used Kids Records.. The relocation and building are great. The lay out features clean lines of vision, plenty of room, lots of natural light, good parking/access and a load in/ out for bands.

The stock gets checked, priced, and moved continually- new stuff all the time. Staff knows what they have and how to get what they don't. They buy and sell used CDs,lps ,cassettes AND stuff to play'm on. It's great to see a long time shop move through owners and locations. I dunno if it's defined in being in high campus or low Clintonville, but that location and 3 other stores in about a mile , plus cool food places makes it super easy to spend an afternoon in the area and drop a grand on cool stuff.
