●Pretty busy, but we still found a table to sit at. ■It would be nice if they had grills. But I'm sure that they used to. People just don't cherish anything anymore. ●The port-a-pot was beyond horrible, 🤢🤮 ■I did to pick up alot of trash. Someone had even sat at a table, had a whole pizza meal, soda and all. And just left the trash & empty pizza boxes sitting on the table. 🗑 🚮 ●But the most irrating of all. Their was a bunch of bad little kids running around with no parent supervision. I understand letting your kids go to the park unsupervised, if you can trust them. And their old enough.
But these kids were & im guessing to be 6 to 9 years.
The 1 little girl who was playing with my daughter was 8. She was at the park without a parent & had her 4 year old brother with her. She was not watching him what so ever. But she's just a little kid her self. 😦😞
But if your kids are running around the park stealing from people, cussing like their grown, bullying other little kids, breaking into cars!! "PUT THEM ON SOME...
Read moreThis is a nice neighborhood Park that comes with history. Fort Chase during the Civil War, eat year they have a a beans and cornbread festival. I went to one and the corn bread and beans were excellent, of course. The band they had a liked because ever play in some salt tree, blues blues Rock. Other than that the the park just kept clean. It is not known for night time Misadventures. The pads connect two large walkway around the small Lake. The small Lake does not have a fence, the park itself does not have a fence, do not let your children run when you get near the lake, treat it as though it's a in-ground pool at a friend's house with no gate or no fence and you don't know where your kids at. There's parking within the park there's a backside neighborhood roads it's easier to get in and out of sometimes the shelter there I think it's rental the one with the roof electric and everything regular building. Check it out. Keep it clean if you see litter pick it up unless there's way too much of course it that...
Read moreI grew up on the Hilltop. We lived at 513 Demorest Road, close to diamond 3 in Westgate Park. I played fast pitch solfball with Hoge Memorial Church on West Broad Street. Back in the day the Hilltop Bean Dinner was the greatest with a circus with rides, a tug-of-war across the pond, old cars and more. Although we still have the bean dinner, there's no rides, no tug--of-war and no more solf ball. The Westgate Hawks no longer exist; once couched by Denny McDonald and Carl Fulton. Yes, those were the great days. Now, everything is so bland in the Westgate Park area, because the folks who had fantastic ideas back then have since passed on. Submitted by Charles Coulter, a former Westgate Elem. and West High kid. God bless the...
